About Me
Network Marketing Was a Natural Progression.
My name is Garry B. Coleman and I have always had a talent for communications. In my previous career I worked for over 15 years in the public service sector before deciding to concentrate on network marketing. Making the transition has been worth effort and a total blessing to my life. While establishing my business "www.ProMarketLeaders.com" I saw that all my years of assisting others has truly prepared me for network marketing. Network marketing was a natural progression in that I am still helping others but now I am working for myself. In using my Blogs as a key method of communicating my experiences in this industry I have restored my passion for the printed word . The friendships, special events and personal growth that network marketing offers is priceless.
In The Begining
When I first attempted to get involved and take a chance on MLM or Network Marketing I didn't know anything about it. Literally, I didn't know anything about it. I was about 26 years old and still in the Navy at the time. I knew I would be separating from the service soon and needed to get myself prepared for whatever the future held. One day a friend asked me to come to his house because he and his wife were hosting a party. I went to the party which turned out to be a sales meeting for a popular MLM. I didn't really understand what they were talking about but he kept promising support and guidance, so I became excited about the potential to start my civilian life as a independent business owner. Needless to say I gave he and his wife a check for about $150 and all I got in return was a bunch of sales forms. At that moment the buyer's remorse started kicking in. He must of seen it in my eyes because he kept reassuring me that as long as I told my friends and family about the business I was sure to have success. I took my papers and went home.
I didn't tell anyone about the business, I felt ashamed about my decision to join in the first place. I called my friend to find out if he would help me get started. He did not return my calls. I was pissed. How dare he? I became so focused on being angry at him that I never did anything with the business. I even question myself, maybe I don't love money like he did. Needless to say I used it a fuel to avoid network marketing for years.
My Opportunity
I got back into marketing about 4 years ago and looking back on the whole thing, knowing what I know now about attracting wealth, I wonder, what would have been if he had provided me with the guidance he promised. Where would I be I had took the time to find out what I was getting into in the first place. How successful would I be if I had accepted the opportunity as MY opportunity and used some initiative to go out and learn about the business, the marketing plan, the business processes required to achieve success.
Instead of being mad at my friend I should have been mad at myself but I wasn't and I am not now. I have lived a great life and I have learned my from my experiences. Reflecting on where I was then and comparing it to where I am now, business wise, I see that it was never about the company my friend had introduced me to. Even now it isn't about joining the perfect new MLM that promises a world wealth to every bright eyed entrepreneur. It's all about having a love for the business of helping others. It is definitely not about chasing every friend, family member or random lead. This business is better than that.
It is really about taking the time to develop myself as a leader in the industry so that no matter what the opportunity is, I can implement a strategy to make it work.
Even more importantly, I can easily teach others the secrets of my success so they can achieve as much or more success than I have.
In my experience I have figured out that a natural love and passion for the business of marketing is necessary day in and day out in order to develop a rewarding networking system.
