Back in 1980 my new wife and I signed up into Amway, in a very aggressive organization. We worked our tails off and in 3 years probably only sponsored 3 people. We intentionally went out prospecting at any mall, trade show, or where ever people congragated. Looking back we were needy distributors. We learned a lot about ourselves, people and how to love people first and build that relationship. After a couple other MLM attempts we pretty much wrote off the industry for us. Determining that we were better for it than bitter about it. At the time MLM was a bust for us or was it just a stepping stone to our current business.

In 1985 we started our own printing distributorship (with the help & guidance of one of our MLM upline) and in 24 years have a modestly successful business. I say modest only because there are many that are hugely successful, but we started with nothing, and I mean nothing. No expirience in busness, sales, printing, paper ink or even a list to work with.

I came out of the construction management industry and my wife, only a few days before delivered our first child, had been a school teacher. Neither of us had real jobs but knew we could always get one if we had to. We started in our basement and I would go out make a few cold calls and maybe bring in a simple order or something to bid on. Then go back out on the street and do it again. Our persistance eventually paid off and we moved out of the basement into a new home where we actually built a sales office above the garage.

Learning how to help clients solve problems and provide solutions has been our strength. Today our print communications business is alive and still feeding the family, however, it does not provide anything to get excited about or reason to get up in the mornings. The business works because we are good, efficient and honest. After 24 years we know how to make it turn a profit and how to solve 98% of any request that comes our way.

My wife and I are a great team together and have a realtionship that is by far one of the best. Not to say we don't have our challenges but we respect each other, we know when to work and when to play. Our interest in personal development and self improvement were addicting in the early years and now our primary MLM is just that. iLearningGlobal.tv has organised a fabulous product to help feed our hunger for personal growth. We immediately signed up with hopes of building a large MLM organization (after being away from the indusrty for 20 years) and knowing that even if the business didn't develop we had a library of tools to inspire us and those we love.

Today, I have come to realize that we have been left behind by internet marketing, keywords, meta tags and all of those techy things that my kids know something about. My wife and I are determined to learn a new way of marketing and a new way of giving back to the community and maybe even the world in some small way. None of this is or has been an accident. God has always provided us the nourishment to develop our strengths and I look forward to either learning from you or sharing with you the things we learn.
