About Me

I'm Gary Lang
It's All About ME.

Actually this information is about YOU and how I want to help YOU with your own success. Knowing just a little about my background can help you do that. Finish this and I promise it will be worth your valuable time. If you don't have time right now Bookmark (Save to Favorites) and come back soon.

I began my business career in the 70's as an Engineer in the electronic cable industry. My drive and leadership soon had me promoted to Supervisor, then Management and was 'successful' but unsatisfied.

I always wanted to own my own business, and was particularly fascinated by Direct Marketing. I had little interest in face-to-face selling and the rejection that was involved. I wanted people to place orders through classified ads, magazines or whatever and never hear the dreaded "no thanks." I studied Direct Marketing, headline writing, copywriting, testing, tracking, and more.

I also always understood the power of Multi Level Marketing (MLM) also known as Network Marketing, or more simply "Networking". Residual income and profiting from the work of a growing team of others is very appealing. I just didn't want to sell the products and opportunities to my friends and family. But I have tried a few Nutrition, cleaning and similar MLM companies over the years with the same very limited success that 97% of all others have.

In 1984 I started a Buckwheat Pillow business. The now world famous "Makura Miracle Pillow" (tm). A pillow that relieves neck pain, headaches, snoring and more. I attempted Direct Marketing the Makura pillow to consumers but found the advertising costs to exceed the profits of doing so. The next step was to Direct Market to Chiropractors. Introduce them once and they will repeat buy for many years. This was the successful way to go. I advertised in all the Chiropractic and Massage Therapy trade journals and did direct mailing. We still get orders now from Chiropractors that we introduced the pillow to over 25 years ago.

I once considered a MLM plan for the Makura Miracle Pillow, but since the pillow lasts ten years or so, it would not make a very good product for a Network Marketing company that needs constant repeat purchasing. However we do accept Affiliates, and Drop Shippers, but that is not my point here.

I was still very interested in the exponential leverage power of network marketing, so when the internet began gaining momentum in the mid 90's I began developing web sites to take advantage of this power. With the help of my brilliant, talented son Paul, We created a site/program called Megabanners, which was a free or paid 5 level MLM based system where web site owners got their banners displaying on multiple levels of referred web sites. We also created a powerful link page system that was free and 100 referral levels deep called My Free Links Page. We had tens of thousands of web site owners and marketers sign up within months. We did not get caught up in the "Dot Com Boom" because we did not finance ourselves with venture capitalists nor sell stock in these operations on the inflating stock market. Had we done so, we could have sold the company for several million dollars based on the number of members we had and the going rate for member based web sites. But I knew our company was not worth anywhere near the millions it could have sold for. It was worth what income it could actually generate by advertising and promotion. What was that worth? That was easy, sign up for most of the different Affiliate programs (there were not that many in those early days), and see which ones generate the most income. We generated well over $100,000 sales in Amazon and more for many other companies as well, but the commission checks were fairly small for the sales generated. I personally reviewed every web site that people were promoting through our Banner and Free link systems. I learned that almost everyone was sending their visitors directly to the income program, affiliate site, or opportunity they were promoting. The rest just sent visitors to a page of affiliate links and banners, known as "banner farms." I knew that was the wrong approach and recommended that all our members send their visitor traffic to a URL link that they personally have control over. Really, what's the point in sending thousands or tens of thousands of visitors to some site that is no longer working, or there is something much better to offer later. I recommended sending all their traffic to URL rotators so they can see what makes them the most money. I no longer recommend that approach.

The big problem I began seeing was, I could generate a large advertising network, a huge email list, and send tons of traffic to any web site I wanted to, but I was unable to teach others how to do the same thing. The system worked but the people needed to do their part too. If people worked it right, they could do the same but over 95% did not bother. People either did not see the potential or would just submit their affiliate links to hundreds or thousands of free link page auto-submitters and not understand that they needed to do their own necessary steps to get several referrals, and teach them how to do the same.

I then understood why 97% of people were failing in Network Marketing. No matter how easy and duplicatable a system is, most people will not take the time and effort it takes to make it work. If you add the fact that most MLM companies do not have a great product at a good value, it makes it even harder to sell it. You essentially have just the income opportunity to offer, which can be very inticing, but when a person does not make any money, the program begins to fall apart. The program may be legal, but they often fall apart just like the illegal Ponzi schemes do.

I did much of the traditional internet marketing of my Makura pillows, including. Search Engine submission, Directory Submission. Created my own Chiropractic and Massage Therapist supplier directory. Created our own Affiliate program. Created a Webring for health sites. Autoresponders, article marketing, newsletter advertising, banner advertising, page rotators, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Pay Per Click (PPC), automated PPC management, keywords, Cost Per Thousand (CPM) advertising, Pop-ups, interstitials, exit pages, and countless of other systems and techniques over the years.

I started a Marketing training system called Adtastic teaching others to do more effective marketing. I created a site linking to many of the great marketing systems, and sites. I of course had my own affiliate link built into many of the sites I referred people to so I could make some money. One thing I learned was that internet marketing was changing constantly. What worked one year was not working the next. It became impossible for one person to keep up with all the changes and knowing "What is working NOW?". Specialists began emerging in the different internet marketing techniques.

I promoted several Clickbank products, and have even created a Multi-level Clickbank referral site similar to a Clickbank Mall but only promoting the best residual income products offered by Clickbank.

What I have NOT done is buy hundreds of paid ebooks, or free bonuses that supposedly teach people one aspect or another of internet marketing by the internet "Gurus". I am self-taught. I'm not saying that is what you should do, because it can cost a fortune to learn on your own. Failed advertising can be very expensive in time and money, but you do learn a lot when you might just be able to learn from others successes and failures. I don't buy anything from some guy (or gal) that says they discovered a quick and easy way to make tens of thousands of dollars every month with some 'secret' technique, then sells the ebook to thousands of others to reveal this so called secret. Maybe the secret was good when it was developed or discovered, but how effective was it going to be when tens of thousands begin doing it, then somoeone develops something to do it automatically.

I gave up trying to teach the masses myself on how to do online marketing. It took too much of my personal time, and I like to travel, and enjoy our second home in Lake Arrowhead. Do I have the money to retire and do all the things I want with the rest of my life? No not yet. The economy has hit us like everyone else. So I decided to again build a referral base, and introduce them to only the best Network Marketing companies that are working NOW. I wanted to find a few companies with products that everybody wants or needs, and has the tools to teach them easy, effective marketing of their products and opportunity. Then I want to teach this referral base how to do the same thing, so they can teach others and so on. I do not want 95% of my team to be unsuccessful like all the free junk. I want YOU to be successful. BUT, you must be willing to take the necessary steps to achieve your own success. I will help you, but I will not do it for you. I will introduce you to free and low cost marketing methods, but you must be willing to invest at least some money in your own success. Your mind follows your money. If you do not pay for something, you will not see its' value, and you WILL forget about it way too easily. Think about it, what free online marketing services are you working with constantly? If you have a good one that you work every day with and gives you results, let me know. If you are serious about your business success, you are willing to pay for the knowledge it takes.
