About Me
Grew up on a small farm in Tasmania. Great way of life, but not much of a way to make a living. Spent two years studying electricity and electronics with telephone company.
I feel that I am somewhat a relic from the past. Having worked with horse and sledge, and trained in the original telephone system (manual exchange). Our neighbours also had small farms and their children helped them too. We had very little money, but enjoyed a very satisfying lifestyle. But in one generation that all disappeared.
I learnt the bricklaying trade and worked at that for twenty years, designing and building three of our own houses. Next came welding and maintenance in an iron foundry for four years. That truly was going back in the dark ages. After that, five years as grounds and maintenance person in a Christian College. That was a very pleasant experience. Then three years with a company supplying transformers and switch gear to mining companies. Overhauling large transformers and fitting them and switchgear together. The downturn wiped that job out. Currently fitting seals and hardware to commercial refrigerators in hotels, convention centres, eating places and hospitals.

Hi,
And welcome to my page.
I feel like I am a relic from a bygone era.
In spite of all the changes that have happened,
I feel that the old values of family, honesty,
and caring about others besides yourself are still valid.
I enjoy meeting new people from other places and look forward
to hearing from you.
