About Me
One of the reasons I wanted to work for myself was I too was a Corporate Slave - burning the candle at both ends. I really wanted to create a new life for myself, one where I could spend more time with my family and friends, learn new skills, travel to exciting locations around the world, have new experiences and be happy and healthy to do so.
I am here on Better Networker to meet like minded people ,network and give back to other passionate new entrepreneurs who are looking to live a richer and exciting life. I would like to help other people with their businesses - my motto is "There is always a better way". Let me tell you more about myself:- I am originally from Ireland and I relocated to Sydney, Australia nearly 10 years ago through my corporate job with a large IT company, don't get me wrong I have had a fantastic corporate career, thanks to the 15 years I spent in my various Sales Management Roles I got to travel to all over the world through work trips - Florida, London, New York, Switzerland, Australia & New Zealand. Also because I was earning great commission I was able to afford to have holidays in Hawaii, Fiji, Spain, South of France & Hong Kong. I really enjoy art and making mosaics, swimming, 4WD off road, skiing, traveling, dining out, walking. The best part I love about my hobbies is sharing them with my friends and family members. To me money is just the oil in life that keeps the tracks greased and moves me towards more experiences and gets me to help out the loved ones in my life.
I have worked in Ireland, United Kingdom and Australia over the past 15 years in various roles from Internal Telesales, Account Manager, External Sales Representation then National Channel Manager. I have experience in Information Technology, Computers, Consumer Electronics, Retailing, Training, Online Social Networking and Internet Marketing. However towards the last few years in my corporate role I was beginning to feel tired, drained, unfufilled, exhausted, unhealthy, unsatisfied and disillusioned.
When I quit my Senior Management position with a large Consumer Electronics Company all of my friends thought I was crazy, everybody kept saying - "it's such a good job". Only my Dad, who himself is an entrepreneur, said to me "I know you are going to be just fine!" These words of encouragement have kept me going through the tough days when it seems like the world is out to get me and nothing runs smoothly. I wanted more for myself, my family and my life and I started to pursue a number of online business opportunities, ranging from ebay to MLM!
