Janelle Rydell

I was born in Oregon and grew up with three sisters. We moved around quite a bit and didn’t really have a lot of money. At one point we lived in a barn, then tents & then a van. Not easy. My family moved to Arkansas when I was twelve years old. It was definitely hard living. We lived there for seven years and of that four years was living without running water or electricity. I worked in the summers picking blueberries at age twelve and thirteen. At age fourteen I joined a youth program which found work in the summer for low income families. By the time I was fifteen years old I worked year round and still went to school. I did this until I graduated high school. I worked to help my family and all my money went to them. I do not have any ill feelings about my childhood. I actually look back on my experiences and see how each and every one of them made me stronger and who I am today.

When I was nineteen, my family moved back to Oregon. I immediately moved to Portland where I met my now husband at age 20 and married when I was 21. We have been married now for 18 years and I have to say, it has been an amazing journey with him.

Working for ourselves…

In 2001 my husband took over the small injection molding/hot stamping company that he worked for. It really was bittersweet as the owner had passed away and he and his wife before his passing had decided to leave the business to us as my husband had been running it for the previous three years while the owner fought cancer. The company was a solid one and made enough for us to be comfortable.

In 2004, I started my own beading supply business and it was going well until 2008. At that point, like so many small businesses, the economy took a turn for the worse and effected our businesses in a very negative way.

I began looking into ways to market online about 2 years ago. My beading business is coming back and my husband's business is still getting by.

I fell in love with Internet Marketing a long the way and here I am today. I have a blog, I write articles and am always looking into new ventures with all my connections I've made over the last couple years. I love it!
