About Me
Originally born in South London, grew up in Surrey, but have spent most of my adult life in Hampshire.
I had aspirations to be a journalist when at school and did some initial training, but never worked directly in the newspaper industry. Now re-developing and honing my writing activities as a multiple blogger. Was lucky to get in at the birth of the IT industry - when company computers needed aircon and filled a room.. Amazing to think I have far more computing power on my desktop now and can talk to the world at the touch of a button.
Spent my IT career mostly at the 'sharp end' as a programmer/analyst with no real aspirations to management. I love web design, it appeals to my creative as well as my technical side.
Spent some time out of the workplace for a number of personal reasons, then was surprised and hurt to find that my age was apparently a barrier to getting back into the IT world. I turned to freelance work and eventually to network marketing. I am maintaining my skills in IT and will be taking a course in web design with databases (including content management, PHP etc.) which may give me the chance of getting back into conventional paid employment.
I have been married twice and I am separated from my second husband - his decision not mine. I am not seeking another relationship and probably never will. No children, never wanted to be a Mum, don't feel in any way that I have missed out. Unofficial 'auntie' to my friend's 18month old twin boys and looking forward to seeing them grow up.
I have a wide circle of friends in sailing, one of my temporary jobs was working on the Velux Round the World Race shore team as a watchkeeper in 2006/7- some exciting times as yachts lost keels, masts and skippers got injured and sick. I served for many years on the General Committee of my own sailing club Langstone SC and have helped with a variety of local and national events on the race management team. I enjoy this just as much as participating in racing. Currently race a Laser Radial, but considering what I do when my body dictates that I can no longer cope with capsizing a small dinghy - happens to the best of us - not trying unless you go for anb unscheduled swim occasionally!
Recently I have had the major challenge of depressive illness following my marriage break up. It has been a VERY tough time but Xocai chocolate DOES work on your serotonin and is considerably better than taking anti-depressants. It has also brought down my blood pressure for which I took hypertensives for several years and may well have speeded my recovery from a mild dose of swine flu by boosting my immune system. I tell my prospective distributors, don't think of this as just chocolate, this is the best health supplement you can take!
