Former investment banker turned entrepreneur. 'Victim' of the Global Financial Crisis now making six figures from home around my kids' pre-school play dates. Passionate about family, personal development and living an extraordinary life.

Born and raised on the tiny island of Penang, Malaysia but my roots are firmly in Australia having discovered my first love, life and living when I came here to finish high school.

Originally tried to please my parents by going to Med School but after 3 years of gagging from formaldehyde, starchy white lab coats and pounding the hospital corridors, I realised I had to be me, living my dreams, not my parents'. A little difficult as my dreams had consisted of my parents' wishes for me to be a doctor, lawyer or an engineer (they did narrow it down for me!).

My next journey saw me down the tract of becoming a lawyer - 2 pages of notes in my first year and flicking through crispy new pages of text books to cram the night before exams made me realise Law School was equally uninspiring.

My parents were adamant that I get a degree and a 'high paying job' so that I could be financially independent! I wish they had taught me about 'financial freedom' but they could only teach me what they knew.

So I thought, why not go to the 'engine room' of Big Business. Might not be legal to print money, but I'll go where they come close to it - Banking. 3 years on the trading floor of a Wall Steet investment banking firm taught me how to think on my feet and stay calm in a crisis despite the testosterone infused atmosphere. Hence, I was a 'failure' because I didn't plump up my feathers or crow louder than the rest just for the sake of it.

They were right - I was a failure because I failed to see what it would take to be successful in that industry. I stuck it out trying to go against the grain but I chose to be Me.

I had finally arrived! 

I went on to smaller,more dynamic organisations raising billions of dollars of capital for the real estate and infrastructure industry, but it was the same time and time again - making other people rich.

No time for me, my family or my own financial freedom plan.

Then I got the wake-up call - Redundancy - at a time when we had just bought our family home and mortgaged to the gills. With 2 young children at home and every other financier pounding the pavement for a job, I had to create my own economy. Besides, I couldn't go back again to the same roles working an 80-hour week AND expect a different outcome. This was my chance to reclaim my life......

This is the new beginning - as a professional internet entrepreneur, specialising in business building and personal devleopment.  More importantly, assisting others to do the same - achieve a work-life balance with true leverage so that wealth building actually becomes tangible day to day, week to week....

Wealth is so much more than money.

My business decision and my partnerships now truly reflects who I am - a person in touch with herself, a mother and a householder, a financier, a businesswoman and an investor.

I am based out of my Northern Beaches home in Sydney, Australia, but my business is global, defined by the people in my team who have somehow found some aspect of me to resonate with them as well.
