About Me
I remember the circles.
The first time I was ever exposed network marketing was with the granddaddy of network marketing Amway. This was in the 1980s. I still remember the feeling I got when I saw how you could introduce some people who introduce some people and all of a sudden you had thousands of people in your organization making massive residual income.
I don't know what happened in between times but I guess you could say life got in the way. I ended up working in a factory building seats for big trucks on an assembly line. I figured I had to do what I had to do in order to provide for my family. 10 years later I remember sitting in that assembly line shaking my head wondering what I was doing with my life. All of a sudden network marketing entered my life once again. This time I decided to take a run at it.
In 2004 I started my network marketing career with a financial services company. Within 13 months I was a Regional Vice President with the company and had almost replaced my factory income. Three years later I was at a crossroads in my life. Three very significant events happen in a short period of time.
The first event was the passing of my father. He was dying in a hospital bed when I left for my company's major convention. I remember trying to fight back tears as I walked away from the hospital knowing it was going to be the last time I saw him. On the last day of the convention I got a call saying that I had to get home immediately. I took the first flight back, left all of my luggage at the airport and was at my parents home three hours before he passed away while I was the only one in the room.
The second event happened in the exact same hospital floor of the exact same hospital. My wife Lisa was in for exploratory surgery for the exact same ailment that had taken my father. As I wheeled her of the same doors and walked down the same path where I had fought back tears less than 30 days earlier, I couldn't help but reflect on how helpless I was. I saw my wife they are drugged up and I knew that if she needed emergency surgery halfway across the world I was not in the financial position to be able to provide it for her.
The final straw was my youngest return to school. I had always told myself that my boy would never go to high school but instead would be personally taught by his own private tutor. As he was going into grades seven and I didn't have to worry about it for another two years. Within days of the incident with Lisa, I found out that Zachariah’s school was moving the grades seven and eight class to the nearest high school. As I dropped him off at the high school and watch my little boy walk up those steps, I couldn't help but think that I had cheated him.
It's amazing how we feel we have all the time in the world. Things will always work out at some point in the future. “If I keep on going and keep on working hard things must eventually give”. I remember thinking this and then realizing that there is no time. There is no future. There is only right now and what I do with my time in this moment. When I realized this, I was receptive for change.
It was the same week I have been running an ad in the local newspaper to recruit people for my current financial services company. As I check the ad to ensure it was placed, another ad caught my eye. I had never called an ad for another network marketing company up until that point and have never called and other ad since. Some may call it fate, some may call it God's will. Although I don't know what to attribute it to, I can tell you that I believe things happen for a reason.
This change has led me to where I am today. My career with Max international has helped me to get over a five figure monthly income and totally changed my life. I don't know that I can attribute all of my success to Max and I certainly know I can't take all the credit. One thing I do understand is that time is precious. I don't ever want a waste another day of my life and I believe that the sooner people get to that point, the sooner everything will change for them.
