Jo Condrill

I'm a native Texan and lived here most of my life. I've also lived in Alexandria, Virginia; Los Angeles; and Wiesbaden, Germany. I attended St. Gerard Catholic school. My business degree is from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio and Central Michigan University awarded my Masters degree in Public Administration. During my first network marketing business I was introduced to Napoleon Hill's Think and Grow Rich, a book that changed my life. It gave me confidence and sometimes audacity. I worked as a supervisor at Army Headquarters in the Pentagon, and later formed my own business doing management consulting and training. One of my most popular seminars is based on my Take Charge of Your Life book. From San Diego to Manhattan people have attended these seminars and some have significantly changed their lives as a result.

The light bulb went on and I came back to network marketing with the largest telecommunication services company in the world. I like being my own boss and especially like not having to fight traffic to get to an office everyday. When I was district governor for Toastmasters International in a Washington, DC district, I led 3,000 people to rank number one in the world. I'd like to have 3,000 people in my MLM organization - that's a personal goal. One of the things I do best is help people believe in themselves. I like being the wind beneath their wings.

I visited China on a trade mission with APUCC and met with book publishers and a CCTV producer. I met many very interesting people there and attended official dinners hosted by local leaders - even walked the red carpet to meet one government official. Imagine that! Speaking of walking, I walked on the Great Wall, too, and visited the “Forbidden City.” The highlight of the trip came as we were preparing to go to the airport to leave. A young man who had been our guide rushed up to me followed by another young man who wanted to meet me, an author. A range of emotions came over me. It was humbling and exhilarating at the same time. He wanted his picture taken with me. I’m very sorry I don’t have his name.

My quest in China was to have my book, Take Charge of Your Life: Dare to Pursue Your Dreams, translated and sold. The publishers with whom I met deferred, speaking of approvals. I was told early on that they had no interest in my communication skills book because they used ___ materials. The CCTV producer I met on two occasions said through a translator that if the book were published in China, he would be interested in having me on a CCTV program. Although one Chinese publisher was interested in an Agreement through my Frankfurt Book Fair consultant, Bob Erdmann, the offer was withdrawn. It might have been that the subject matter met with disfavor. Perhaps I should have offered them my book on book signing tours!

I’m a late bloomer and raised four kids before launching my career. They are on their own now and I’m proud to say all are self-sufficient, caring people.
