About Me
I have been an entrepreneur my whole life. I was the kid mowing my friends' lawns for money. I couldn't believe my friends' parents were paying me $60 dollars per month for only 4 hours of work per month. Do the math! That's $15 bucks per hour as a 12 year old, almost 20 YEARS AGO! It's scary to say, but how many people do you know today that would apply and readily take that kind of pay today as an employee.
I consider my lawn mowing days my first successful business venture as an Entrepreneur. Unfortunately somewhere along the journey I lost that Entrepreneurial belief in myself & started believing what everyone else was teaching me! "Go to School", "Get a good Job", & "Find a good company to work for". So I did that! I even took the accelerated program and bypassed college for a great job with a great company. I was set! I had the great job with a great company & was making a great mid six-figure income. I had clawed & worked my way to Vice President of a $52 million dollar company and was set to take it over one day. The only problem was it was destroying me physically and wrecking havoc on my family. Sound familiar, anyone!
Well, I physically hit the wall. I was working 16+ hours per day, sleeping at the office 2-3 times per week, pounding energy drinks like crazy go...go...go and then finally my body told me no more and shut down. I was diagnosed with Bacterial meningitis and spent (7 WEEKS in intensive care unit) and nearly died! I was such a brainwashed employee my brain basically overheated and blew a head gasket.....literally! During the 7 weeks in ICU I had (2) brain surgeries and plenty of time to ponder life & my family.
Unfortunately it took me (2) brain surgeries and (1) near death experience for me to realize how incredibly wonderful & supportive my wife Kellie is. She never left my bedside and was there for me the whole time. I went back to work with my same company about 1 month after my surgery for round two. I still had a burning desire to build and get back on top. My Dad always taught me to never quit and to always get back up when your knocked down. Plus we didn't have cable and the only channels we got were in Spanish! You don't need cable when you're never home!
However, this time when I went back it felt a little different because I finally started asking questions like an Entrepreneur again. How long can I sustain this? If I don't show up to work, will I get paid? Why do my coworkers bring me down so much? Why don't I have freedom to come & go? Why do I feel so torn between spending time with my loved ones and putting food on the table? Why has my pay not gone up in 3 years? Why am I getting a pay cut when I am blowing out all of my goals & expectations? I noticed the more questions I asked like this the more blackballed I got from people at work. Now that I look back I could see the transformation that was taking place. I was going from an employee mindset back to my roots as an Entrepreneur. The little boy mowing lawns was BACK!
Now that the Entrepreneurial spirit was back I needed something to do. So I began looking around for different business ideas and I knew what I didn't want! Stuff like an office lease, franchise fees, employees, workman's comp, vacation calendars, board meetings, expense reports....basically anything and everything that goes with corporate America, I was burned out on that scam. So I kept looking for what I wanted & I was specific and serious about my new rules of business.
The rules for my new business were: I would not approach friends and family to sell a product, I wanted to be confident that I could replace my current six-figure income in 3 months, I could get started for less than $20,000, and lastly the company could not have any outstanding issue with either the Better Business Bureau or the Federal Trade Commission.
So That is when I turned to the Network Marketing Industry & changed my life forever!
