About Me
I Reached The Big 50..and thought "What the Heck"
I have only been online since the end of 2008 and don't think I have ever felt so passionate about my "work" for many years. Sometimes I have to ask myself "how did I get here?" nevermind tell you how it happened!
I won't go back right to the beginning but my working life started aged 18years after gaining lots of qualifications(Yep-I loved school) and I trained to be a nurse. Over the years I qualified as a psychiatric nurse ,general nurse and a midwife. So....some pretty heavy responsible jobs. I scaled the hights of the nursing profession to find not great pleasure but just a whole load of politics and egos(the patients were pretty cool though).
Because of that background I have been training and mentoring people from that tender age of 18.....as you know there is always someone below you.I have always had a caring nature-or so I'm told
but there is also a side of me that has a sense of the entrepreneur and I love business.
I had my first business at 21yrs old when I took my first break from nursing and had my son. Nothing flashy-a fish and chip shop takeaway but when I sold it, it did pay for our son's private education until he was 18.
I also had a fruit/veg and florists shop and a hair salon......I know!! I just stuck in a manager-grew the business and then sold up for a profit.
Disaster Struck!
What happened next was, after many years in nurse management and running private care facilities(big business indeed) my husband Paul and I entered our first business together. For almost 5 years we had a successful car and motorcycle dealership and then in year 5.......crash,bang,wallop.......due to major cashflow problems and having been mislead by our bank we had to close the business. Not only out of pocket(seriously!) but also out of our minds with worry. This was the first single biggest major downturn in my life.I felt fear like never before.
Amazingly Paul got straight back into a brilliant job and I panicked and bought a franchise business for 20K....it had to work. I knew this wasn't what I saw myself always doing and had a 2 year plan. After 2 years I put it up for sale and had an offer on the table the first day of going up for sale. Now I don't know if that was good luck or the fact I had been saying affermations like there was no tomorrow! (I had also just qualified as a life coach so was practicing this all the time!)
The one thing it definately did do, was give me the mother of all wish lists of why I wanted to work from home. I didn't have a clue what I would do but for quite some time had a gut instinct that the Internet was the place to be.
Now I didn't find it funny that I would work online but my family did......apparently it was hilarious because I had such limited skills on the computer and had alway had people "Do" things for me.
This is me now
So....after a massive learning curve to get me up to speed withmarketing online and what I call dogged persistance this is who I am today. I have a real grasp of business from all my offline ventures and many years of training people and supporting people in business.
I am an Internet Marketer and Mentor to some wonderful people and have a strong focus on Business Coaching.
