About Me

I am an internet marketer and member of the six figure mentors. My aim for 2011 onwards is to build a successful SFM team and expand my business. When i'm not working i like to spend time with family and friends.

Going back to June 08 i already knew that there had to be a 'better way'. It wasn't just to earn more money, but to have a better lifestyle and have more time to spend with family and friends.

I had been working 7 days a week and its was taking its toll. Every type of shift pattern there was i will have worked it at one time or another. Getting up at 5am on a saturday morning to be at work for 6 certainly wasn't something to look forward too and then going out to socialise with my girlfriend or friends i was always exhausted. Needless to say i wasn't a very happy either. It was having a negative effect on my life and at times i felt my health also.

I'm from Belfast, Northern Ireland and at that time i was working in the aircraft industry building airplanes. It was during those years that i saw 1000 people, a lot of them my friends lose their jobs. I knew i could be next and i couldn't do anything about it.

I always wanted to work for myself and i knew that it was going to happen sooner or later. My job was paying the mortgage on my 2 bedroom flat, the food and petrol for my car ( a 9 year old Renault Clio) but there was very little left at the end of the month and i was fed up carrying on month after month just getting by and not feeling like i was getting anywhere or accomplishing anything. I knew that i wouldn't be able to afford to move to a bigger house or drive the cars that i wanted. There was certainly no job satisfaction thats for sure!.

I started looking into franchises. The thought of having a ready made business appealed to me. I had looked through the franchise magazines and saw what i thought to be my ideal job, a vending machine franchise with a well known multi national chocolate manufacturer. I always enjoyed being out and about driving and meeting new people. It was looking good but the seller decided not to sell and that was that. I wasn't too happy at the time but considering all the high costs and not so high profit margins it was for the best.

Next it was a mobile minor car body repair franchise. The costs were sky high compared to the advertised price with all the "essential" add-ons. I soon realised that franchising was going to cost far too much, certainly much more than i could afford or would be willing to pay even if i could. Even then i still knew that working for myself was the only option. The recession was here and wasn't going away anytime soon. The last thing i wanted was to be stuck doing factory jobs that i hated in the first place.

I started looking on the internet just to see what was out there. The only problem was i didn't really know what i was looking for. Soon you find all the get rich schemes and there's plenty of them out there. Eventually i found internet marketing. I didn't know a lot about, to be totally honest i knew nothing about it at all. After a few months it was something that i thought i could make a go off. So i did!. After a few months and a few bad experiences i soon realised i couldn't do this on my own. I'd heard it a hundred times that, "you can't do this by yourself". I had to get myself a mentor, and thats exactly what i did.

Having got more spare time now i can do the things i enjoy doing. Going to the gym is like an addiction for me, i don't know what i'd do without it. I also like to swim and cycle although thats more seasonal now over the summer months. I enjoy the training but i'm not so good with the diet. I also like motorsport, world rally, F1 and Motogp.

I also like to work on cars. I'm no mechanic by any means but having a few friends who between them have worked for Aston Martin, Ferrari, Land Rover and Volvo dealerships certainly helps. I also enjoy reading, books or magazines anything thats interesting.

In my earlier cycling days i used to do the border trek charity cycle ride from Enniskillen in County Fermanagh to Carrick on Shannon in County Leitrim. Its a 200 mile round trip. A 100 there, stay over night and 100 back. Its a tough journey and a lot of training needed to be done for it. Even though its around June, the weather at times has been horrendous. Needless to say all the proceed went to Action Cancer a very worthwhile cause.
