Lottie Jenvey

Native of a Montana prairie (farmland); at 12 transplanted to California (Sacramento)--a huge lifestyle change.  Destined to become a perennial student; life member of California Scholarship Federation; Sacramento JC graduate of “great distinction”; fun at UC Berkeley but had declining academics; decided to finish BA in zoology at University of Texas (8th decile); then about ten years of trying to figure out my values and who I was; I worked for attorneys, for the patent department of a pharmaceutical house and in a parasitology research lab.  More school for a teaching credential (actually 2); but classroom teaching wasn’t my thing; being a hospital pathology secretary connected me with my science background so I took the med tech courses to become a medical technologist and added a cytology course at UCSF to screen smears for cancer cells.  Married and soon had two beautiful children but not a happy union.  Fortunately, with excellent secretarial skills I was able to secure good full time or part time work at will, easing the management of the care of my children and their activities.  Lover of Nature and participant in the California Native Plant Society and many environmental groups.  After discovering my creative side in dancing and teaching same, I went on to discover my creative side again in quilt-making..  While my kids were working on their advanced degrees, I found my creative side again through competition in many camera clubs.  I had a keen visual eye for photography, particularly, wildflowers; so after I retired, I spent about 6 months of each of the next 8 years traveling all over the Western States and Alaska doing just that.  Now I am an octogenarian with five grandchildren--liberal in politics and religion, taking the step from being a Unitarian to being a Humanist (but no more membership with any organized religious body).  Tending my osteoarthritis as I set my determination on success at network marketing.
