About Me
I am currently married with two children, two step-children, and two SETS of adorable twin grandsons! I went back to college at Upper Iowa University in 1998 and received my BS in accounting in October of 2000. I set out to achieve my original high school goal of getting my CPA license. It took me 3 years, 3 attempts, a lot of frustration and more than a few tears but I finally passed! My (not yet) husband at the time was a "successful" operations manager for a small private company. I thought our future was set, the hard part was over! Little did I know the hard part was just beginning! First of all, getting my CPA did not open doors the way I had expected it to. I did advance to a certain degree, but not nearly to the extent I had expected. All of that pain and suffering with very little reward.
Then, in the fall of 2007, my husband made the decision to quit his job. The company had been sold and the new owner did not have the moral and ethical business principles that my husband did. He decided to move on. He immediately proceeded to get his real estate license and signed up with a successful firm. Of course, the economy was already in a state of turmoil so he couldn't have started at a less advantageous time. He continues to persevere and we know that eventually things will turn around.
Meanwhile, a business associate introduced him to an "opportunity." Initially, we decided that we would sign up because of various direct benefits we would get such as travel discounts and tax write-offs. But the more exposure we had to the business, the more we realized that we had an opportunity to be truly independent and eliminate virtually all restrictions on our time AND our money. Not to mention avoiding all of those humiliating and demoralizing interviews with potential employers.
We no sooner got pumped up about the whole prospect, as we realized that approaching our friends, family and business associates to participate in this "opportunity" was a bunch of bunk. It was really by pure fate that I landed on Ann Sieg's web site and began reading about the lies that exist about Multi Level Marketing. I hadn't even realized that I was going into SALES! In two months my husband and I could already relate to every point she made. Points that some of the examples she used on her site, including herself, had taken people YEARS to figure out!
So here we are. Marketing our business the right way. I have just completed the initial composition of our individual web site, and am slowly but surely learning how to attract traffic, promote our site, and monetize it! It definitely is not a get rich quick plan, but it is a solid plan and I can guarantee you I won't get bored anytime soon!
Stay tuned for posts and articles from me as I unravel the story and the secrets of our success!
