I have been close to the ocean during my early childhood and most of my adult life. So my hobbies and interests have also been akin to the ocean: windsurfing, surfing, bodyboarding, bodysurfing, scuba diving, free diving, and pretty much anything that makes a splash in the water! I also love spending time at home with my wife; we both enjoy going to the movies. She likes all the romantic mushy stuff, while I can do mushy romantic at times, but prefer action thrillers and adventure flicks best. I'm also a bit of a geek. At 43, I still like comics and like to attend comic book conventions whenever they are in town (geek heaven!). I'm an XBox360 man. Love my Xbox!!

I normally go windsurfing in my day off (no weekends are off in Cancun. That's the busiest time of the week!). I like hobbie catting too, though I don't own one...yet. I have a beat up motorcycle (250 cc) which presently is sitting in my backyard (it's sort of broken down). I love to ride it (when it works) and eventually will upgrade to, yes, you guessed it, a HARLEY!!

About Me

My name is Luis Xavier Peña Torres. I am Mexican but I was originally born in Accra, Ghana (West Africa). So I have been fluent in spanish and english from very early on. My parents traveled abroad extensively when my older brother and I were children. We finally settled back in Mexico where I graduated from the American School Foundation in '86. I immediately began college at Monterrey Tec in Mexico City but soon found my interests elsewhere, in the hotel industry. 4 years later I graduated with a Bachelors degree in Hotel & Food Industry Management. Very nifty title; got me my first real paying, nine to five job: Account Executive for the Sheraton Sales Center Mexico. It was sales and they were paying me literally to learn the business. I other words, low earnings! Didnt' last long. My real desire was to find a job in some beautiful mexican beach and get out of the city. This and my less than stellar performance in Sheraton got me tanked after a year and a half of working there. It was right around this time that I came to hear about a really interesting business concept that worked by referring others through buying and promoting of products. It was AMWAY's arrival to Mexico and, inevitably, I became an afiliate. I dove full on, buying all the tapes, many products, hot listing, doing presentations, etc. Even went to one of their famous Top Earner seminars. It's a great school but soon I was out of money to keep going and my earnings had been minuscule. So I decided to make my life out of the city. I left and set camp in Puerto Vallarta for 4 years. Great experience! I later moved inland to San Luis Potosi (it's like Arkansas) and finally got a chance to move with a paying job to Cancun, where I have now lived for the better part of 11 years. I met my beautifull wife here. We have no kids. Just two sweet dogs (a boxer and a labrador, both girls). Cancun has bee good to us, I currently work as a butler in Rosewood Mayakoba, a 5 diamond, ultra-luxury complex south of Cancun. Don't let the glitzy name mislead you. It's a good job, truly the pinnacle for anyone dedicated to guest service industry. But it is also the end of personal and professional growth for me. I am not interested in climbing the corporate ladder. I want to be my own boss and reach finacial independence within the next 7 years. I would like to retire by the time I am 50 years old. Enough time remaining to enjoy the next 50 years! And so now I am are ready to learn this business and do it right, first by learning and then by sharing and teaching others so that they too can learn how to become financially free. I hope I can be up to the task!
