About Me
Owner of an online retail/wholesale business Diamondistrict Design selling jewelry, designer perfume, clothing and shoes. I have two degrees in business and up until four months ago worked in the filled of human services helping people in distress. I love working at home for myself 100%. I am excited about social networking and internet marketing. I am the founder of Living Large with Style a social network for plus size women and those who support us.
Let Me Tell You How I Got Here
I have worked in the field of human services for 14 years helping alcoholics, addicts and their families. This is rewarding work but the pay will never take you where I wanted to go. I have always had a side business that would make me an extra few dollars and as the years went by I began to dream of having my on business full-time. I continued to get by certifications in counseling, but I decided that my degrees would be in business. Last year something really took a hold of me. My long term goal of being a director of a treatment program came true. That is when I realized if I was going to work from 5am to 5pm and then some I wanted to do it for myself. The promotion to that position was a blessing because I learned that I could go out and promote products and services something I thought originally I could not do. So, I knew I still wanted to help people yet I wanted to be a wealth builder. I talked about it and prayed on how to use the skills I have, and what would be the best way to learn new skills in order to be successful.
The Begining of a New Journey
August, 2008 I made up my mind I had a now or never attitude and left my job. I love my online business selling jewelry, but when the tough times hit people stopped buying jewelry. At least the people with the budget my customers had. What I did realize as I joined social networks is that people are looking for information and they are looking online. People want to make money, they want to start a new business, they want to learn how to do all sorts of things. So I spent four months researching network marketing looking for something to get involved with.
Overwhelmed with information myself I thought about leaving the whole idea alone and then I ran across Matt Dillard's Magnetic Sponsoring. I did a google search and unlike many others his name was always attached to something positive. I also noticed that others who were involved with network marketing who presented a presence of integrity also knew Matt. I am on my second go round with Magnetic Sponsoring and have started the affiliate program. Since reading the book I have had more opportunity presenting my social network to people than I did when I was going after them. I am using the good listening skills I learned as a counselor and people are telling me their life story and when they ask me what I do I tell them. At that point the person has already made a decision that they like me that they ask to here more. The final decision is up to them but this is less stressful than hunting down every cousin I have to get a lead.
The other thing that happened that has encouraged me is finding betternetworker. Wow people respond quickly to your questions, the site sticks to the rules that the administrators created. I love it and don't feel like I am flying blind.
I have high energy and a positive attitude looking forward to the New Year New Me!
