About Me

Why I Just Couldn't Quit... Even After Floundering And Failing For 9+ years In MLM!

I used to HATE getting up in the morning when I had to go to work. Aaargh...I would rather eat my pillow!

Not that I am adverse to working or working hard, but when I have to hear the gossip and complaining of my co-workers and the fact that I don't get paid nearly what it takes for me to do the things I enjoy doing, I'm sure you can understand why I don't just jump out of bed. That’s why I started my own internet business.

It's also why I joined this Better Networker community. I want to meet, network and give back to other young educated professional men, women and couples who are in the same situation I was...and hopefully, my story will help to inspire you to discover a better alternative just like I did when I started working from home, being my own boss, and literally writing my own check. But, before I get into all of that, let me just tell you a little about me...

I always excelled in school and had no problem maintaining good grades in school but it wasn't enough for a free ride to college. While attending the University of Miami, I was recruited by my mom for a MLM business. What a joke I was!

I must have seen the business a hundred times and never did anything with it because frankly, I thought is was a business for people who lacked real talent and skill to make it up the corporate ladder or people who didn't do what they were suppose to do, like get a higher/ better degree and found themselves desperate later in their careers. I though (@19) I had life all figured out.

Then Came My Daughter In the Middle of My Senior Year...

Confused about what to do with my life... I barely finished my BBA at U.M. and held a series of odd jobs: a bartender, a telemarketer, a virtual customer service rep, a loan processor, I even had my own adult modeling staffing agency (yes, porn ;-) )

By 25 I had 2 more kids a husband and still no real direction. That gave me the unique prospective to really start to focus, to THINK for a change. I couldn't quit! I just had to learn what I was missing.... but what was it??

Seek and You Will Find, Ask and...

I found the Better Networker community (Magnetic Sponsoring back then) and discovered all the attraction marketing principles I was missing. Today I have the pleasure of working only with people who are going and growing in the same direction I am and having the time of my life making more money in and out side of my primary business by applying the principles I learn here on a daily basis!

Now I am part of something I can be proud of sharing and have become a coach and mentor to the newbies on the net.

Yes I Have A Life Too... Sort of!

  • Wine tasting
  • Fine dining reviewing
  • Chasing my kids old around
  • Enjoying being able to take a nap in the middle of the day!
  • Trying to get myself into volunteering... but I'd rather be reading another great book on marketing.
  • Remodeling and Stagging homes for sale (expensive hobby)

What Can I Help You With?

Well, that depends on what you need. Need a website review, tips on choosing a niche, help setting up you marketing funnel? Let me know! I'll unload a tresure trove of free and low cost (for a fee, of course...just kidding)

Ideally, I would love to work with someone who is self motivated, an independent thinker and most importantly, a burning desire to be, do and have more of all the good stuff in life!

Hello Malika,

You are indeed an inspiration to me. You have really increased your value to the networking community, which is my goal. When I read about people such as yourself, it helps me to stay motivated and not give up. I see that you live in TX near Ft. Worth. I live near Waco. Please visit my profile and post a comment. I would like to contact you from time to time to see how things are going. Is that okay? Happy New Year and I look forward to a strong relationship. Have a blessed day...

Sincerely,

Katherine Hayes

It's ok Fay, just make sure you get it right when you say it to my face :-)

Hi Malika,
I'm just starting out here at Better Networker and am looking forward to your posts. I'm using attraction marketing and the most effective ways to build a business. I have heard of magnetic sponsoring and looked into it a little and find it truly amazing. It's great to hear of new ways to do business.

I don't know Rick, people's feelings get hurt reading my post sometimes... WARNING I say what I think and feel.

Hi Malika,
I was born in 1969 so I don't think I those numbers would have worked ;-).
How did you enjoy living in Miami? We almost moved there in 2001. A place I would love to live is in Houston, I have a great friend and business partner there and I enjoy the vibe there. We lived in New Orleans (Kenner actually), St. Louis (Chesterfield actually) and Los Angeles (Yorba Linda actually). When we moved to North Carolina we fell in love and felt like it was the best place to plant roots and raise a family. We're not army brats but it has been adventureous nevertheless.

I sent you back a note... I hope that was soon enough! Great to have your fresh ideas here.

sheesh .. thanks for pointing out I have no life LOL.
I didn't realise I was the most prolific poster.
I guess it is a combination of having been here so long - and being a procrastinator. It is much easier to fix other people's problems than work on my own ;)

Comment by malikasvp
I know! lololol other peoples problems consume my life but it pads the pocket too so who complaining? Not us!

Malika,

I just noticed we weren't friends yet and almost gasped aloud. Oops! I thought I'd "connected" with you a long time ago. I've been following your posts and really appreciate your outlook/presence here on BN.
