About Me
I've been a business professional in the corporate world for the past 21 years. I started in 1987 with my "dream job" and loved what I did. Over the years I've had numerous assignments and have gained responsibliities that have helped me develop into a solid leader. The industry is changing and acquisitions, restructures and downsizing are common. I have experienced more transition in the last 5 years than in my entire career. The way I was looking at everything changed after Thanksgiving in 2006. The week after Thanksgiving.....and day before knee surgery I was told my job was being eliminated. For the first time in almost 20 years I was restructured out of a job. It came as a complete surprise. I had 8 weeks until I would no longer be receiving a paycheck. I was panicked and immediately began my job search while on crutches. Needless to say it was memorable and really engrained the experience in my mind.
At that point I knew I never wanted to go through something like that again. In order for that to happen, I needed to make a change. I had always had interest in home business. Similar to many other folks out there, I got involved in network marketing and really grasped the power of the concept, but old school techniques didn't work for me. I joined several companies over a 10 year period. Despite my prior experience to network marketing, in 2007 I was determined to figure something out after going through the restructure. After a couple of mishaps, I found success in September of 2007. I knew it wasn't what I wanted to do for the longterm, but it was working well for me and it's what led me to the businesses that I'm in now. I knew I needed to learn how to market online to a much greater level that I was doing. I sought out mentors to learn from. After going the wrong path a few times, I finally understood all of the pieces of the puzzle and was able to put them together!
What I enjoy most is helping others get up and running facing the right direction with the proper tools, resources and information that will help them build momentum. Momentum leads to success. Understanding the big picture and how everything fits together is crucial. Then getting on the right path with intense focus is next. One on one coaching makes an enormous difference and really helps in staying on the right path.
In my free time, I enjoy Bikram Yoga which is 26 postures in 105 degree heat. It's a wonderful way to rid your body of toxins and get an incredible workout! It's incredible how you can literally clear your mind of everything once you walk into that room. I've also been volunteering at the local SPCA in my area for years. I've done everything from dog training, events, mobile adoptions and fostering. I specialize in fostering animals that have health issues or are in need of socialization. It's a great deal of fun and very rewarding. Of course along that way, I've adopted some of these wonderful pets! I've had as many as 5 dogs and 2 cats. Currently, I have 2 dogs and 3 cats. Quite a crew! All of them are adopted animals from the shelter. I typically adopt older pets so they have a great home to live out their lives.
I am looking forward to meeting others here that have similar interests and goals!
