The story of a Security Engineer who decided to get out of the engineering profession and seek a new lifestyle!

In December 2004, my freshman year of college, I did a simple search for "Making Money Online" and opted in to a very generic lead capture page. Shortly after I was called and I joined my first network marketing company.

I tried everything my upline told me to do. I created a list of friends and family, bought leads, and hung posters all over my campus. Although I had a lot of interest only a few people wanted to get involved and those who did get involved wouldn't and couldn't reproduce what I was doing.

Sound familiar?

I continued on this path on and off until I graduated in May of 2007 with my bachelor in computer science and mathematics (I know I am a nerd). Shortly after that I got married, and moved from Michigan to Arizona to start my first job with a defense contractor, a job that I ended up disliking a lot.

Shortly after starting that J.O.B. (Journey Of the Broke) I decided I had to get out of there. I scoured the Internet for something that would give me an opportunity to change the life I had, for one where I had money and time freedom.

I found it, got involved and shortly thereafter, gave up. Why? Because I was full of excuses on why it was too hard (really?). Like many people on the Internet I wanted a quick fix and was not satisfied with having to put hours in daily to make it work.

So I started the infamous "Opportunity Hunt." I was searching for the perfect opportunity that would make me rich overnight. (I know I was naive and lazy!)

However, after doing this I realized that I was not going to find it. That's when I ran into "Magnetic Sponsoring" by Mike Dillard and it changed the way I was thinking completely.

I went back to the opportunity that I started after I graduated and started working that. It was amazing that I started seeing results when I actually put time in. (That was sarcasm.)

Today, I work from the comfort of my home and my interest is in helping others achieve the same. I want to see others achieve a lifestyle where they have both time and money freedom.

In the end, the money is not the most satisfying part of this industry. And I hope you can see that. And if you can't right now you will someday.

The fact that you can change the lives of people, who then change others’ lives, is what is satisfying. Each of us is creating an opportunity for people to come and change the world they live in. That is what helps get me up in the morning and spend the time working on my business.

If it wasn't for the leaders before me, Mike Dillard, Ann Sieg, etc. I would be the same lazy bum I was when I first started, just looking for a "get rich quick." It was their investment in me, along with my investment in myself that changed who I was and in turn has changed the lives of others that I have helped.

That is what this industry is all about. And now with a tool like BetterNetworker we can do it more effectively.
