I joined a multi-level marketing business as a way of re-gaining my freedom after years of slaving away in corporate UK.

I bought the dream along with the flyers, business cards, DVDs and leads. Sadly, but perhaps predictably, none of this brought the money, a downline or a business.

So, being an educator myself (freelance trainer/lecturer) I realised that I had to find someone to teach me how to 'do mlm' - a mentor. This search set me off on a fascinating journey on which I was challenged, had to push way beyond my comfort zone and really had to examine myself and my motivation.

I hooked up first with Mike Dillard then read a lot of Joe Schroeder's stuff (plus much from Joe's people like Diane Hochman) and finally I joined Dennis Karganilla in the MLMGoldmine family. It is impossible to summarise simply how much I have learned from these guys.

So now 7 months on I am a successful internet entrepreneur, I have multiple income streams that have replaced 100% of my earned income and I have the freedom to work part time from home and spend as much quality time with my kids and husband as I like.

Now I can look back on my journey and see that it was never just about the money (though the income is great).

It is about so much more - discovering who I am under all the layers and the public image I used to hide behind for many years, learning how to really help others to replicate the system that has given me back my life and sharing this amazing journey with other wonderful people.

So now here I am all over the web - You Tube, MySpace, Squidoo, Magnetic Sponsoring etc. I attract all the leads and prospects I will ever want  - so much so if fact that I now pass many contacts on to my friends and fellow web 2.0 marketing colleagues.

Now that I have cracked the mlm code for myself I honestly feel such immense joy and passion about helping other newbie entrepreneurs to do the same. So it's not just about the money or my journey anymore, it is about giving something back and making a meaningful contibution to the prosperity of others.
