During this Holiday Season, please remember to take a break.  Find that special place for R&R and spend time with your loved ones!    'Work Smarter not Harder'  -   I live in New York and love the Broadway plays but even more so, the eclectic cuisine on each block.    Although you will mostly find me on the beaches in Florida or next door - the Caribbean.  

I am presently in New York for the Christmas festivities and the famous 'New Year's Eve' Ball Drop in Times Square, New York City.   Of course, I will be doing the ice-skating at Rockefellar Center.

I have been in the travel industry for over 3 years and resigned my corporate job in December of 2007.     The city festivities especially around Christmas and New Year's Eve always seem to be for others and not myself, therefore,  I made a decision not to let life pass me by but instead live life to the fullest.   I now do whatever, whenever and I am now part of the "OOH, AHH" crowd  - very delightful and rewarding!

I noted today that another 53,000 jobs are gone.  But is it really 53,000.  What about the other companies that depend on those workers spending.  It's a 'domino' effect.  The first one goes down and it affects everyone.  Therefore look for additional lay offs every week.

What can be said?  

Take advantages of tax breaks offered on starting your home business before the year ends.   Ask tax experts what your return would be.  Do your due diligence and know about your company of interest.  See the company structure and compensation plan and then move forward.  The holidays are always a great time to start.  See what discounts are available and get involved with all free tools available before investing.  Once you decide that's the way to go, get started.    Also make sure that the support promised is actually in place.  During this transition period from JOB to your own business is crucial to having a team behind you to help with your prospects questions and closing.
