Phyllis Goble

I've been a Rhode Islander for more than half my life, and although I've lived elsewhere, I keep coming back to this great state. Born in the Bronx, NYC, I moved here when I was 29 and have never regretted it. New York is only a few hours' drive from here, and Boston is only about 30 minutes away. So, I can experience "the city" whenever I've a mind to, without having to deal with the rush hour traffic, smog or cramped environment of a big city on a daily basis.

Ever since I was a little kid, I've been a teacher in one form or another. This is my joy, and I am thrilled to be able to continue into my "golden years". Family is very important to me, and I'm honored to say that my 3 beautiful daughters have blessed me with 8 wonderful granddaughters.

I find inspiration everywhere I look, and this has provided me with a richness of life that I would not trade for anything. It also means that I tend to go in 90 directions at once, and while it's exhausting at times, it's also quite fulfilling.

Burnout lurks around every corner these days, and because I love to share myself and my knowledge with others, a certain amount of meditation is an absolute necessity before I can fall asleep at night. Such is the nature of the world these days. Maybe it's just me, but I don't think so.

I will continue to "rage against the dying of the light" for as long as I am able. Join me and we will rage together unto the end.
