About Me
Hey there, my name is Robert Lindquist. Thanks for stopping by and visiting with me today. I am the distinguished and award winning author and creator of this very profile page! (ok well maybe that's slightly overstated :))
As a matter of fact, I'd be willing to bet that we're alike in more ways than we're different. I put this page together to tell you about me and what I do and offer a few insights on my philosophy and lessons I've learned in my life and it's all FREE! :)
The Early Years
When I was a kid, my father was my hero just like for many boys as they develop into young men. He worked as a fireman in the town where I grew up and was very devoted but never seemed to get the respect he deserved, always being stepped over for promotions and never rewarded for being a good man with integrity, heart and kindness.
It seems that in the world of careers, the people who strive to do what's right and good and would rather remain 'low rank' than sell out and win at the expense of other people, aren't valued the way they deserve.
Yet it's always been my mission to be as much like him as possible and keep my integrity at the forefront.
After my father's sudden passing in 1990, I signed up for the volunteer fire company in 1991, where I served for almost 2 years. For me it wasn't a career like for my dad, but instead it was the beginning of my service to the world and first experience where I could really make a difference.
The Lesson I learned
Even though I didn't make it into the career Fire Department in town and follow in my fathers footsteps like I had dreamed, what I learned was that you don't have to follow your heroes along their exact path in order to carry on what they started. Over the years it became clear to me that I could take all that I learned from my dad and use it to literally change thousands of lives on a world scale.
Keep on Truckin'
After leaving the fire company, I didn't know what to do next and jumped in and out of odd jobs in search of my passion. My long time girlfriend's step-father was a local truck driver in the next town over and I heard those guys were making some REAL money AND got union benefits too, so I decided to get my truckin' license and went out to a driving school for a few weeks in Iowa and came back with my CDL (commercial drivers license).
Having the connection to a solid union trucking company was all it took for me to get my foot in the door and start working with the big boys. I drove big rigs for almost 5 years, working horrific hours, midnights and shifts that would send most people running for the hills and rightly so.
The upside was that I was a local driver and it had its perks and offered a certain kind of freedom with no boss looking over my shoulder constantly.
Then I just outgrew it.
The Lesson I learned
'It's not what you know, it's WHO you know.' Even though not the dream job of the century, it wasn't one anybody could walk into off the street. You had to know somebody on the inside. I've found this lesson to be true in many other instances in my life.
Corporate America, Here I Come!
Having hit the creativity ceiling in my trucking career [wink], I noticed that computers were quickly becoming the hot industry, so in 1997 I went to a couple of computer schools and landed my first real job right smack in the middle of corporate America in 1999.
Over the 6 years I spent in the Tech industry, there were many certifications that I needed to obtain and maintain. It was a never ending and boring process which never seemed to lead to a higher income despite my diligence. I even went as far as developing custom processes for deploying new computer systems and software, which I taught MYSELF on MY TIME. No matter how valuable I became to my team and company, I was only compensated to the level management was 'able to offer me.'
The Lesson I learned
If you work for somebody else, you are building THEIR dream and achieving THEIR goals, NOT yours. In corporate America, we are not paid for our contribution, talent or hard work; we're paid for our TITLE. Nothing personal, it's just business.
So I OPTED OUT

:: Then I Found Inspiration ::
What is inspiration? It's many things to many people I suppose. It's also the #1 thing that fuels passion and burning desire in business and all areas of life.
The one thing that has always inspired me more than anything else is L - O - V - E. I feel that it's the sole purpose and reason to be alive. I always have.
"Am I wrong to love you?"
That's what I used to say to my girlfriend not long after we met in the summer of 2005 via the worldwide dating scene.
You see, toward the end of my Tech career, I was on an absolute mission to find the love of my life.
Sometimes you just have to scrap EVERYTHING and start from scratch. That's an understatement for what I did.
Guys, don't let your wife / girlfriend, see this next part. I think I set the bar a little too high...
Extreme Measures Were Necessary
Back to the worldwide dating scene I mentioned earlier. Ever try out one of those online dating websites? WOW, that'll give you a new perspective on relationships.
My journey led me to an international dating website which was where I first started to correspond with an adorable Russian girl named Elena. We spoke for 30 minutes via computer for the first time and then it was all telephone thereafter. I was sold on her from the start and you want to talk inspiration?
I was determined to go to Russia and visit her, so 45 days after I was on a plane to Moscow.
I didn't tell anyone what I was doing, not even my family. "Robert, that was careless, you're inconsiderate, you made everybody panic." Hey look sometimes you have to just say "screw it, let's do it" and start walking. Besides I didn't want to hear the inevitable negativity and the 'you're crazy' nonsense.
When I got here to Moscow (I say 'here' because that's where I am now) everything I dreamed of was true and my intuition was right. She was the perfect girl from a great family with the right outlook on life.
So after my short 8 day visit to Moscow, I had to go back to the states and figure out how I could get back to Elena. My hunt via internet landed me at a School in London for getting certified to teach English abroad, called Windsor TEFL, awesome people there.
I was terribly shy and introverted but I knew I could do this and 30 days later, I was on a plane to London. I should mention that when I called a couple big name English schools in the USA, they said, "You can't teach English because you don't have a college degree." What should I tell them now that I've been a certified teacher working in Moscow for over 18 months, having taught students onsite for companies like Lukoil, Deloitte, HP and a handful of local Russian corporations?
The Lesson I learned
NOBODY tells me that I can't do something. The more somebody says that I can't, the more adamant I become in doing whatever it is. A leader needs no validation or approval for going after what they want. I give MYSELF permission. Nobody else needs to sign off on my gameplan.
Back to the fun…
Then after I got my Trinity TESOL Certification, I promptly quit my 6+ year tech job with full medical, dental, legal, 401k without even blinking, sold my beautiful 3 year old, 3 bedroom 2.5 bath townhouse, gave my dog away to good people and got on a plane to Moscow. (Risk, Risk, Risk)
Since then I've had 9 transatlantic flights in the name of love. I've traveled from Moscow to Ukraine via train, and Turkey for our honeymoon (see slideshow for photo).
So you think your commute is bad? I've had schedules here where I had to commute up to 6 hours per day, double round trip, via buses and subway only.
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!
Don't you just love it when people share good news with you? Me too... On May 5, 2007, Elena and I were married here in Moscow in a small ceremony with a few family members. Don't forget to send presents :) (check my slideshow for some of our photos)

Traveling English professor / Free Enterprise Activist / Vagabond
Having gone from shy introvert to certified English Teacher took a lot of courage, trust me, but so does anything worth doing.
After the first 6 months of working here as a non-contract teacher who calls his own shots and works when he feels like it, I knew I'd turned myself into a hardcore entrepreneur of world class status.
My next move was to start digging for the right network marketing business that I could run from my headquarters here in Moscow. I found a couple programs that looked promising and got involved.
Then it occurred to me that I really had no idea what I was doing and my sponsors were long gone, a common phenomenon in this industry.
Through research I found some people on my wavelength who actually taught HOW to be an entrepreneur and how to THINK. Can you imagine? There's not a school anywhere that will teach you with no fluff or filler, how to become a millionaire or so I thought.
Ever hear the saying, 'Success is an inside game?'
Those used to be just words to me until I came across an entrepreneurial community called StarLink, led by my colleague and fellow Marketing Trainer Joe Schroeder.
I had read in Mike Dillard's Magnetic Sponsoring course that Joe was a huge reason for his success, so I immediately googled Joe and located his Spellbound Method course. Over the next few months of studying Spellbound, I learned what it was inside of me that was holding me back.
Inside the 5.2 pound Spellbound crate of wisdom was the telephone number for the free StarLink Nation Marketing Training calls, but YOU get it right NOW just because I like you :)
You can call in daily for free to learn about ATTRACTION MARKETING and the Quick Link Marketing platform which has been at the forefront of the Network Marketing industry since 1996.

Is there really such a thing as true friendship in this industry? Do people who are NOT out to pitch everything with a pulse and credit card really exist?
The answer is yes, but we're a small group.
A Final Thought...
Remember that little kid who had big dreams, nothing too big and had no doubts or insecurity? Somehow society and life get a hold of us and we end up letting go of our dreams. Why?
STOP BEING REASONABLE. STOP LOOKING FOR APPROVAL. START TAKING RISK.
Did you know, That kid is still inside you and all you have to do is get in touch with him/her and you can continue the dream? Then you can bring it into reality step-by-step. You can.
