Ronald Hird

Born and  bred of Australian born parents; My fathers' father sailed from England on one of the last 'sailing ships' before the steam era early 1870's; my paternal Grandmother was born in Australia of  Irish parents who met here having travelled seperately, both early twenties, had lived not more than a mile of each other in Ireland, didn't know each other till they met here.Unfortunately I know very little of my mothers parents, but it appears to be of Irish lineage.

My family; there's hers, there's mine, there's ours, there's fosters all adding up to eleven, added to by one fosters' sister who turned up at a later stage of proceedings. Easier to explain it this way! Now that they are older (it is a choice to GROW UP!) we now have 14 grandchildren, the youngest delivered by her grandmother, producing a favouritism problem for Nanna!

I'm in semi-retirement, considering very seriously going back: bored to tears. Can't just leave the house anymore with, "Back soon, got a job to go to!" Do a bit of vegie gardening, enjoying that apart from the 'drought crisis' we are in here. Done nothing successful on the i/net so far but still trying hard.
