Shawn Karner

I'm from upstate New York, a beautiful part of the Country. We are surrounded by pristine lakes and lush mountains.  Our winters are cold, yes, but picturesque. I have a passion for travel, and I look forward to adventuring to exotic countries and sharing those experiences with the man I love.

I have worked the majority of my adult life in the hospitality field. I've had a myriad of jobs including front desk clerk, concierge, cocktail waitress, guest services manager and catering/conference services manager. The bottom line with them all was that I catered to the wealthy and privileged in our society.  As the Catering Manager at a posh resort on an island in Lake George, I was, in essence, The Wedding Planner, "J. Lo with a walkie talkie".  That was a quote from a famous soap opera star that I helped throw together a last minute wedding for he and his fiancé.

I was named Manager of the Year in 2004 including a trip to Mexico. I was interviewed and written about several times in Manhattan Bride Magazine and the Soap Opera Digest. The soap opera star I worked with was interviewed about his little last minute wedding in upstate New York, and I was mentioned. He sent me some Tiffany jewelry as a thank you.

I met Rachel Ray several times, Bette Midler, Alan Alda, Gerry Springer, Montel Williams and his family, Hilary Clinton, Dave Matthews and the whole band, Van Halen brothers, the entire NY Giants football team, Tom Petty, Chad Pennington (Jets q'back) and countless other celebrities during my hospitality career.

I worked endlessly to give my brides and grooms the most perfect day of their life together (so far). I made so much money for other people, Corporate America, and worked 70 hours a week. I got so tired of seeing other people enjoy their wealthy lives, boat on the lake while I ran around in my black suit waiting on them hand over fist. I finally thought to myself that there is no reason in this Universe that I couldn't have that lifestyle too.

I love to swim, go fishing with my man, golf with him, travel, play online poker.  I am a frustrated interior decorator and photographer. I was raised spiritually (not religiously, there's a difference) and I practice the Laws of Attraction in my own life.  I study the teachings of today's great spiritual leaders like James Arthur Ray, Joe Vitale, Mike Dooley, Esther Hicks and so many more.  I realized that I'm rarely in photos because I'm always the one taking them, finding an inspired moment with
family and friends. I love shoes and designer purses, my only real vices….well, except for cars!  I love cars, have since I was a little girl and my older
brother would tell me what they all were as they passed us by. I have a shiny, new, red, convertible BMW in my sites, within my grasp…I WILL have that car.

I will watch just about any sport, but my man has been a NY Jets fan since he was a child, and I have become one too (sad but true).  I love to watch golf, Nascar racing and the Travel Channel, Discovery and Food Network.

My four and six year old niece and nephew are like my own children. I spend as much time with them as I can, including their Mom.  I consider her a best friend.

I am a dog nut. Throughout the years, we've had so many.  Bear was the best dog in the Universe. He was a rottie/shepherd mix and very intelligent.  We called him "Dr Bear" .  Then there's Sox, the malamute/shepherd mix. He loves the winter and frolicking around in the snow.  He's a gentle soul, loving and protective.  We've had a couple of pit bull mixes along the way too. All the dogs came from
Save-a-stray, an organization I believe in supporting.

These days my passion is seeing my internet business grow and sharing the information with anyone I can. Passion and giving back what I have received is my first priority. Sharing and excitement for what you do should be the first priority, your motivating factor, then the money will follow as a result.
