Welcome to my page!
First things first, this page is not for me to promote my business in any way. I just want to share my experiences and hopefully it might help some one. I work with different people from different businesses. My goal here is to promote the industry it self not any particular business. So you will not see any mention of any company names or products on this page. I would also like everyone to respect that when writing notes.
Now to the good stuff.
I don't know if your like me but I've been tired of what they call the rat race for a while now . So I have been looking for that opportunity, that great business that would help me achieve my goals. I have been swamped with people pitching there business at me left and right. I have seen everything from the weird scams or shady looking ventures. I got burned a few times, lost money most of the time.
But I still believed in the concept I mean what is there to give up too, right? Giving up would mean to stay at my job for ever and be forever broke. So going back was not an option for me. I spent a lot of time looking for that perfect business the one that would be easy for me to do. So I went to all the business meetings and trainings I was invited to. Ok, I did find a few things interesting; I did try a few things but for some reason did not work out. I could not figure out why.
I thought it was all about business all about how much I could make. About how many people I could get to join my business. It's all about the numbers every one said, not!!! Thru all that frustration and desperation I never once thought about quitting, the industry that is. But I was still looking, looking for that perfect business that had it all. All I cold find were people making claims on how much money they make or they I can make if I join there team. Sounded real good, on the surface that is.
I will not say that they were all bad people or bad businesses. That was just the way they were trained. You must motivate people or fake it until you get it and all that. Witch does work to some extent I mean we are all affected by *HYPE* at some level. But once that feeling is gone, you start to think, what am I into, this is not want to do etc. They old buyers remorse they call it.
But still I persisted; still I believed that network marketing was the key. In the worst day it beats the 9 to 5 rat race life, hands down. But what was I missing, what was it that I did not understand? If I am sure they industry works and I know people are making money from it, and lots of it. What is the problem? Then I met one person the only that had a different speech. When I first met him, the first thing he did was not telling me how great he was or how much money he had. Not even how great his company or team was. His first words "Hi I am David nice to meet you, What can I do to help you?"
That may sound simple and very basic. But I want you to understand how I felt. I knew I needed help. Maybe to proud to admit it or what ever. But that was the first time anyone and specially a perfect stranger ask me that question. I was so not ready for that question I had no Idea what to answer. In a few minute conversation not once did he mention the business or products or nothing. All he did was ask questions about me. Where about do you live, do you like it there are you married do you have kids, what are there names. In about 3 minutes he all that stuff about me.
Most shocking, he seemed genuinely interested in every word I said. I was baffled I did not know what to think. I mean I go in to see a business presentation witch was interesting. But meeting the speaker after the meeting. I really expected him to go on and on about his business and how great it was. There was none of that not even anything close to that.
I went home that night I did my homework on the company but I was not looking for much. I mean it was a pretty simple concept. But I knew I wanted to work with this man I wanted to know how he got to be the way he was. Because he was different then everyone I met in all the other meetings.
To make a long story short. From that point I understood a few things about the industry. Why most people don’t make it, it's not related to the product or service of the company. It's all about the people.
This is key;

The bottom line is this no one cares about your business or your products. Anyone and everyone cares about themselves first. Witch is absolutely normal and at the same time absolutely great. I mean it just instinct, self preservation. I heard some one say or read some where, sorry not sure witch.
He said. "Life is like a game of chess, if you don't know the rules it is impossible for you to win. But if you know the rules, there is no guaranty you will win but you at least have fighting chance" That phrase changed my life.
Now the question you might have is "What are the rules and how do we learn them?”

If you build the person he will build the business and not the other way around. You must learn how to bring value to people. Focus on there goals not yours. You must have a purpose greater then yourself. There are many different ways to go about this. Has many different ways to learn as there are different people. It all depends on where you are in your life. That is the first thing you must figure out. Before you can even think of moving forward.
I learned a few things along my network marketing experience. I will not claim to have to know it all or to have all the answers. But I truly believe I can point you in the right direction, No matter what business or type of work you do. All you must have is a definite desire to grow from with in.
