I would like to bring you face to face with the nuances of Network Marketing. But before going into all those nitty-gritties, I would like to give you a brief introduction about myself. I am a mother of 4 and a staunch believer in God. My life’s journey has been quite an eventful one with many ups and downs. But in the end I am happy to have pursued my passion and am there where I had always wanted to be in life.
My Early Career
I started my career by serving in the army. Sounds unbelievable right? But true to the core. I lived in Stuttgart, Germany at that time. No sooner had I left the army, and moved to Prince Georges County Maryland, than I took up a job as a hair stylist in a salon. But unfortunately I could not continue there for too long since my children were very young. So I joined a Fortune 500 Company as a Sales Executive to get a taste of ‘Corporate America’. But as you know everything in life comes with a price, this job too had its cons. I worked tremendously hard to take my company to the pinnacle of success and in the process also made a decent fortune. But I was so overwhelmed with work that I could barely spend time with my husband and children. At this juncture, I pondered and reflected a lot on my past experiences, and eventually decided to start my own company only to be confronted with more hardships later in life.
A Huge Blow
Although owning my own company seemed to iron out some of the earlier problems initially, here I was faced with a bigger challenge because slowly from earning a decent salary, I became bankrupt. I banked on my old clients, but they purchased products from me only in lieu of discounts. In the process I incurred huge losses. So I was planning to go back to ‘Corporate America’ again, when I was introduced to Network Marketing where I saw an opportunity to excel. In these 20 years, I had made several acquaintances. So armed with a desire to help people, I again started with a renewed vigor and enthusiasm. I did all that was within my means to sustain in this profession. I lent a helping hand to people but they were too unwilling to oblige. Around this time I was again thinking of switching back to ‘Corporate America’ when I was given the opportunity to start with a new group of people in another state. It took me to places and I found myself at home only 3 days of the week. For the rest I was only traveling. Hence I suddenly found myself at wits’ end. Just then a tragedy struck. I lost my son, Melvin. It was perhaps the worst time of our lives with the economy crashing around us, we being rendered homeless and then having to cope with the insurmountable grief of our deceased son.
Back to the Basics
After a lot of perseverance, I again landed a job as a Sales Executive, in ‘Corporate America’. There was no excitement about the job. But I simply stuck around and kept thanking God for making this opportunity available during these trying times. Somewhere, deep down I knew that Network Marketing was my calling and so I waited for the right opportunity to come my way.

Finally, a Ray of Hope
Soon after I started another Network Marketing company part-time with the little fortune I had at my disposal. But this time it proved lucky and after sometime I relinquished my position as a Sales Executive and shifted focus towards my own business full-time. But as luck would have it, I met with a car accident which started slowing things down for me again. But I was fortunate enough to have found a coach online who taught me the strategy of Internet Marketing within a very short span of time and I eventually tasted success in this domain. Today I feel overjoyed because apart from deriving monetary benefits from this venture, I also have the luxury of working from the confines of my home which means I can devote considerable time to my family without having to sacrifice my passion. Everyone calls me an awesome teacher now and I feel elated to have achieved my goal even in the midst of these terrible adversities.
