About Me

Hello to all of my fellow networkers here at BetterNetworker. My family and I reside in Nashville, Tennessee. I am a mother of two wonderful children (14 year old son, 6 year old daughter) and the wife to a very loving man. I have been an elementary school teacher for the past 11 years. I currently teach kindergarten, which I love. My family means everything to me and I would walk through fire and across glass for them if necessary. So for those people wondering what is my "why" or motivation for being here, it is my family. There is a purpose for everything that we do in life and my purpose for being here is to connect with like-minded and goal-oriented people. I want to learn from those who possess the expertise and the willingness to share with others. The knowledge that I have and will continue to strive to gain will be openly shared with those here who wish to connect with me. I understand that "Rome was not built in a day", therefore I take one day at a time.

Question: What is the difference between a clutched fist and an out-stretched hand?

Answer: The clutched fist is interested in creating "win-lose competition" type businesses. The out-stretched hand is interested in creating "win-win cooperation" type businesses.

Which do you possess?

"Whenever you see a successful business, someone once made a courageous decision."
– Peter Drucker

Hi TaraD, thanks for commenting on my article "2009 Tax Breaks". I guess we have more in common than you think. I currently work in a public high school in the counseling office. I have been employed at the same job for 19 years now and up until 5 years ago, I was a full time employee. You are right, teachers are losing their jobs daily. Not to scare you, but I see it happening at my job yearly. This is why I got back into Network Marketing. One day, without notice, they came to me and about 10 other people and told us we were no longer full-time employees. I now work 10.5 months throughout the school year. What this means, is when school is not in session, I don't get paid. I lost $10,000 in annual salary and 5 weeks vacation too. Healthcare, which I didn't pay for prior to this incident, I now have to pay for, which is very costly. Let me tell you that I have never completely recovered from that loss in salary. I would love to do AmeriPlan full time, but I can't afford it. It is my plan to retire myself from my job at the school in 3 years. So continue to be aware of what's going on in the world, but don't let it control you. Just be prepared. When they did budget cuts at my job, I was told in March that I was not going to be working over the summer. I had 3 months to prepare for not getting paid for 2 months over the summer. At that time, I was a single mother with a child in Jr. High school.

Yes, Cynthia I agree with you that the key is to be prepared and not let situations that are out of our control take over.

Thank you Cynthia for the offer of help. Also, thanks for introducing me to BetterNetworker. I am still a bit new to networking.
