About Me
I was born in Simcoe, Ontario Canada during World War 2. My father was born in Akron, Ohio U.S. and mother in Dundas, Ontario Canada. The beginning of my life was spent in Hamilton, Ontario then on a farm in the small community of Strabane, Ontario.
My father owned and operated a heating business he established in 1933. We lived in what I would call the upper middle class financially. When I was three years old I contracted Spinal Meningitis (I don’t remember that) in 1952 I contracted Polio and
went through a couple of years of recuperation ( At first the doctors told my Mother I would probably not live, then said it looks like he will live, but he will never walk. Then
they said it looks like he will walk, but his right leg will not grow to the same length as the left. Then they said it looks like it will. So, if anybody out there has been given some dire news from their doctors, remember it is mostly guess work in a white coat and Will Power and Spirit is everything). At 13 years old I contracted Rheumatic Fever. (Terrible headache). As an adult I have never been sick a day in my life with the exception of a cold from time to time.
My early school years were spent in a private boy’s school, then University in the United States. I worked at many jobs during my university days (shoe salesman, cowboy, automobile salesman (almost starved to death), residential heating apprentice and finally mechanical / electrical engineering. I retired at 58 having sold my engineering business I had owned and operated since 1983.
I have been married three times. My first wife was from East London, South Africa. My second from Canada (deceased) and my third and the absolute love of my life is French Canadian. My Francoise and I celebrated our 20th anniversary during October of 2009. I have had two children, one of each. My boy lives in Las Vegas and my daughter in Ontario.
In 1972 I purchased an Island in central Ontario and built a log cottage on it. Fran and I lived on the Island full time from 1995 until we sold it in 2004. We now live on the western shores of Lake Huron in Ontario Canada.
About seven years ago I became concerned about the rising costs of living and began researching the “Home Based Business” industry. After several failures I finally found a program that did not have all the pitfalls most home based businesses had and life is now good! At least I’m not concerned about the rising cost of living anymore.
Now I spend my days with the beautiful Francoise, a little time each day managing my “Home Business” watching my grandchildren grow up, traveling and golfing.

Hi Rachel, Your Aunt Fran is still a knock out and feeling good. You are so right about the internet.
