Interests

Interests:
I enjoy traveling by car and seeing this great country. One day I'd like to take an extended road trip to see the Grand Canyon, The Black Hills of ND, Mt Rushmore, and all points in between.
I like to go to restaurants as long as the value meets or exceed the price. 5 star restaurants with poor service, small portions, or mediocre food are places I will not go to twice.
I like old movies - the old black and white genre are fantastic, and I like the old westerns with John Wayne and Clint Eastwood. I like that the actors have talent - no special effects to mask their shortfalls, and since most of them are either dead or have faded away, there is no politicking. Who cares about Hollywood's opinion - they are just entertainers.

Activities:
Painting landscape and still life paintings using oil and watercolor. I love the water and enjoy kayaking on the back waters of Florida taking in all that nature has to offer.
My family is what is most important to me and my grandkids are a blast! They always amaze me with what they say and do. My kids are terrific - they both grew up to be outstanding parents and citizens, both having served in the US army. My daughter-n-law and my son-n-law are wonderful - I couldn't ask for better additions to the family.
And, I like to decorate my home.

About Me

I was born in Grand Rapids Michigan and grew up in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. I graduated from Manheim Township High School in 1973. I’ve been married to the same person for 38 years and have two adult children.

I started my "life career" working in the ad paste-up department at Lancaster Newspapers where I created advertisements for nearly 10 years. In 1982, I went to dog grooming school in Baltimore Maryland. I opened my in-home grooming shop and had a booming business for three years.

In 1987, I got my real estate license and worked very hard to get my broker's license and appraiser's certification. In 1993, when real estate regulations began to clamp down on the agents with fees and more fees, I decided to go to college for a degree in art and design, which was always a love of mine.

I’ve always had the design bug - whether I was planning something or creating something - I just enjoy it. I got my BFA in Art and Design in 1997 from Millersville University, and landed an adjunct teaching position at Pennsylvania College of Art & Design until 2008 when we re-located to SW Florida. My husband retired from Alcoa, Lancaster after 37 years.

During the ten years of teaching Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and web design using html, my husband and I invested in real estate vacation rental properties in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, and in fixer-uppers in Lancaster, PA.

After moving to Florida, we tried one more time at the dog grooming business, this time mobile, and it is a booming success with all the companion animals living with all the retirees in sunny Florida. But after two and a half years at it, we have discovered that at our age, grooming is a little too physical – also hairy!

Being a little too young to collect Social Security or living on our pension, and with few options for having a business in this part of the country, in this economy, we were drawn to network marketing. When we discovered the potential to build a very successful business through internet marketing, we were hooked.

The atmosphere of the network marketing industry reminds me a little bit of being in real estate where people are excited and want to help others and connect. We love the idea of not having our income capped by our physical ability to do the work (as in grooming), and we also love the idea of working from anywhere. Our kids live 7 and 15 hours away, and when we visit them and our 4 wonderful grandchldren, we have to be away from our home for a few weeks at a time. As Robert Kiyosaki says’ “It’s the business of the 21st century!”
