I'm the first one from my family to go away to college graduating 4 yrs later from Saint Olaf College in Northfield, MN with my BSN. After my graduation, I worked for the Veterans Administration Hospital in Los Angeles. I gained a lot of valuable experiences and exposures during this invaluable time for my first nursing job. Then I got bored and really wanted to travel. Not being a person of means and being an Army Brat, I knew that I could accomplish this desire as a member of the Armed Forces. On the advice of a USMC friend, I didn't talk to anybody but the Air Force. I became LT Ayers in September 1978. In service to my country, I worked in various environments in the hospital/clinic, got involved in karate, trained in jungle warfare during which time I found out I was allergic to grass! I recruited nurses for the Air Force and basically enjoyed the adventure until Sep 1988 when I departed active duty and joined the Reserves in order to serve my family specifically my Marine and my daughter. I continued to pursue civilian nursing in order to help support our household. My family grew by 2 more children. Additionally, I was placed back on active duty for Desert Storm. Being active duty again was awesome especially since I had the opportunity to serve the POWs from Desert Storm; but my family needed me more. We moved overseas to Okinawa, Japan to allow me to rest and focus on serving my family as full-time Mom. I became interested in home-based business opportunities in order to augment our income since I wasn't employed during this time. Then the journey began getting involved with MLM, lingerie sales, telephone sales, financial related products etc, etc, etc! We expended a lot of energy and $ we really couldn't afford to waste for minimal success. Although I became discouraged with the minimal success with homebased business exposures, I never really gave up the thought that there's a business for me! Multiple activities keep me busy now. I work 12 hr weekend nights as an orthopedic nurse which provides stable income stream. Additionally I teach Biology, Anatomy/Physiology to high school homeschooled students during the school year. We're living with autism so I actively research and pursue/apply strategies in raising my youngest son to make his life great. I pursue physical fitness in order to be able to keep up with the needs of serving my family and have the energy to engage in my hobbies. Lastly, actively pursuing the internet marketing business is keeping me busy. It's a field with which I'm not proficient but it's engaging and exciting to be going down this road. My goals for the future are to remain teachable as I go after skills in this media. I also intend to complete my professional nursing education by pursuing my MSN. My goal is to work as nurse when I want to instead of when I have to. I intend to provide a safe environment for my son with autism to learn, grow and work. Most of all, I intend to continue to give my time, talents and money in service to my God.
