What's New at Better Networker

We've made some changes!

We are in the midst of launching some big changes here at BetterNetworker!  We'd ask you be patient over the next few days as we continue to make these changes and finish our transition to an upgraded system.

Here's some highlights of what's new:

Easier Navigation

We've restructured our main menu system.   Instead of content being broken out into Articles, Vidoes, and Podcasts, now all content is under the "Learn" section.   You'll find new submenus that break the content out into popular topics.  You can also easily filter and sort this content by creation date, popularity, and votes.

More Featured Content Placement

New layouts site wide allow us to feature more content from both instructors and stars in the community!

Flag Content Easier

Its now very easy to flag content in the system that is spammy or offensive. You'll see flag links when browsing content or when looking at the detail of a piece of content.

Re-vamped User Profiles

We've redone the layout of user profile pages, making them fuller and more professional. 

Additional Profile Fields

We've added more fields to give you a more complete user profile field.   Click Settings at the top menu tool bar when logged in for links to edit them.

You can now select from a list of companies, industries, and experience levels.  This will ultimately help us build out a full featured search system so you can find like minded individuals.

Locations!

You can now add a city, state, and zip code, and have it show via a google map on your profile page!   Note that we do not collect anything more specific than this and it is NOT possible for any user to locate your full address.  

Twitter Support!

You can now integrate your account with Twitter!  Click Settings, Social Networks, then fill out the fields for Twitter.    If you enter BOTH a username and a password, you'll be able to automatically post to Twitter when you add content.   Also, your status on your profile page will pull from your Twitter account, if you've added it in your settings.

Sharing Links

All content now has a Share It!  and a Tweet It! link.  You can use this to quickly and easily share content with other social networks, or friends via e-mail.

Guru Level is Now "Contribution Rank"

We are revamping our ratings and points system.  Guru level is now "Contribution Rank". Its the same scale, 1-5, and its based on points you earn by submitting content.

We are adding a new badge/rank, called "Community Rank".   You'll see the badge for it in your profile.

This ranking is based on the average number of votes your content gets.   This will be a much better indicator of the quality of content you share via Better Networker.

This will be a tiered system, with ratings of 1-10.   Look for lots more on this VERY soon as well as a more detalied explanation.

More Emphasis on Voting to Rate Content

Voting is now more prevalent.  You may only vote once per piece of content, and it may not be undone.   Basically if you found a piece of content useful, give it the thumbs up by voting for it.   This will help us weed out the good content from the bad.

Coming Soon

There are big changes coming very soon.  We will be further enhancing this first round while constantly making the site cleaner, and easier to use.
