A Blog is a great marketing tool
Having a blog is great for building relationships and business at the same time when done properly. Of course many blogs are pretty "Cheesy" and don't reflect a good image to the blog owner, but many attempt to do marketing and business without experience in either, and in return end up wasting a lot of time and energy for nothing. ROI=0 i.e. not good.

I do the same and have for years.
This is the only way you will be able to hang in there since most folks don't build quickly.

Having a blog if you plan to market online is a must. I currently have several in different target markets. I felt it best to keep separate my different product focuses.
