Hello Better Networkers,

This community (that's all of YOU) and Magnetic Sponsoring have inspired me to produce a talk show that will be broadcasted via various channels on the net including all major video sites, social media outlets and podcasting directories.  And since you're a big part of my inspiration, I need your input.  WHAT do you want to get out of the show? and of course, WHO would you like to see interviewed on the show?

The way I see it is that not enough of us understand or practice the very principles of Magnetic Sponsoring and the concept of servant leadership...  How do we give more value to the world so that we can attract others to WANT to join us on our pursuit of what we are trying to achieve?

The timing is perfect but the entrepreneurs in the industry need to update their knowledge and mindset to catch the wave and cash-in from this movement! A good part of the show will be dedicated to illustrate the convergence between Internet Marketing and Network Marketing, and how some of the leaders in these fields are pulling in insane profits by being creative with their marketing.

Currently the show format will be one host (me) interviewing one special guest.  I am working on inviting leaders from different opportunities in network marketing and also Internet Marketing experts to come speak about their stories and share secrets and tips.

As a side note, I'm currently being coached by Jody Colvard and Declan Dunn to produce the show.  She's a wonderful teacher and has experience in professional media production and Internet affiliate marketing. Declan is the guru's guru in affiliate marketing since the mid-1990's and now social media. You can find them on Google if you want to learn more about them.

Let's lock arms and make this happen, guys!

Dream Enormous,

Jerry Chen

Talk Show

Hi Jerry,

Looking forward to see your talk show up and running. I am a newbie and pretty much everything is frustrating simply because it's new. But if I were to pick one area of interest right now is, how to come up with content for sending follow up e-mails and capture pages.

Hi Vasca,

Welcome to the community.  I know how you feel about "everything is frustrating..."  I remember when...  And you know, it's never stopped!  Just at a different level :)

Hang around the forum and make friends... and contribute whatever you can.  That's really the best way to get yourself noticed!  Too make "takers" out there.  We need more givers!

Have fun and good luck!

Jerry Chen — Tue, 10/21/2008 - 7:19pm

Awesome Idea

Hey Jerry! This is such a great idea! Glad to hear someone is taking steps to take our entire industry to the next level. A show like this will open a lot of doors for a lot of people, especially in our economy.

Can't wait to watch it!

let me know the moment your show gets aired and I'll buy a TV just to watch it. Or better yet, make the show online, and we'll watch on your website.

This will be great, because it will help destroy the whole "scam" perception most people have of network marketing, raising all of our businesses!

Leonardo Saraceni — Tue, 10/21/2008 - 9:05pm

Show format

Hey guys, the show is not going to be on TV... At least not yet.  You see, the convergence between TV and web programming is already happening.  The PC (uh... MAC, too, of course) is becoming the most powerful entertainment center and the Internet the most content-rich medium.

The show will be broadcasted via video sites, social networking sites, podcasting directories (like iTunes and a bunch more) and some private distribution networks (check out http://www.fmgtv.com).

Jerry Chen — Wed, 10/22/2008 - 12:51am

Who do you want to see?

Hey guys,

I appreciate you coming by to see the poll.  Please share your opinion by casting votes.  The more data I can gather the more relevant content you will be able to see.
PM me whom you want to have interviewed and I'll figure out how to get them on the show!

Jerry Chen — Fri, 10/24/2008 - 5:27pm

Brilliant Idea!

A talk show?  Dude, you rock.  GREAT idea!

Although it was not one of the choices, I seem to struggle with a lot of the technical stuff....sites, ftp, autoresponders, tracking codes.  All the fun stuff.

Jeff Schechter — Tue, 10/28/2008 - 10:38pm

I Told You You Are Brilliant!!!

Hey Jerry!

I placed my vote...as for people that would be awesome to interview?  Definitely Mike Dillard and Dani Johnson!  Wouldn't that be awesome? Ferny Ceballos, Raymond Fong, Diane Hochman, Tiffany Dow, Malika Duke, John Reese, Eben Pagan - I will think of more names...maybe as you connect with people on BN and other social sites, ask them who their successful sponsors are and see if they would like some free "exposure"... You never know who's camera ready, you know?

Take care and again you are an awesome contribution to the industry!

Emma ;)

Emma Tiebens — Wed, 10/29/2008 - 1:01am

Emma, thanks for the comment. That's a slew of big names you listed. Now I have to see about getting through to them somehow. Hehe... Let's see how far we can go with this. My coach Declan knows most of the Internet Marketing guys like Eben Pagan, John Reese, Frank Kern, John Carlton... I'll see if he will help his student (i.e. me) get these guys on the show.

And of course, I need to work hard and do a good job executing what Jody and Declan teach so the show is attractive enough for them to invite the speakers and be proud of it... :)

More feedback more betta! Thanks guys.

Hi - a comment for Jeff

Have you seen the SEOToolbar?  You can download it and it has 47 start up videos on there + whole load of other useful stuff.  I have it but am not promoting it so it is just an idea for you.  I can't remember when I found it but I am sure it is readily available.  Under Tools and internet videos there are amazing resouces from choosing a domain name to ftp - blogs etc.  Many useful things.  Hope this helps -

Powerful Idea

MLM has had a bad rap...  and rightly so....that is why I avoided it. There is such a different approach these days. I like it better so I think I will join in the game. A TV show would give the new approach more credibility. GO for it! and good luck!

Dr Deb DiBiasie ND — Wed, 10/29/2008 - 4:27pm

It will be great

I'm sure this will be a success!  Hope to see it all work out.

Um...Guys, Such a Show already exists...

Hey Jerry,

I just wanted to let you know I have a network marketing talk radion show up and running for the last few months called "Network marketing For Smart People".

This morning I actually interviewed one of our resident techies and success coach, Cenay Nailor (also a profile contest winner) on the show about helping newbies "get set on the net!"

And Emma, I am so flattered to be be included amongst the names you mentioned in your post ;-).

I'd love to hear the poll results as well Jerry as I have some very successful and highly talented home based businesses owners coming on in the next few weeks. You guys can check Cenay's interview right now: www.blogtalkradio.com/majorleaguemarketing

Malika Duke — Sat, 11/01/2008 - 1:47pm

Hello Malika! Thanks for sharing! I just listened to your episode with Jeff. Very nice interview : ) It'd be great to have you on the show sometime!

I actually listened to a few other podcasts and radio shows out there before deciding to get trained to do it professionally. What I'm trying to do will eventually look like http://www.mommycast.com so I'll do my best to get not just audio, but video interviews and training content, depending on the location and availability of the guest speakers. And the distribution channels will be wider than most thru TrafficGeyser, FMGnetwork, iTunes and other podcasting directories and web2.0 outlets.

So, with that said. May I have the honor to have you come on the show?

Jerry Chen — Sat, 11/01/2008 - 9:01pm

Thanks for asking

Hi Jerry,

I am a newbie and I guess I need to know the basic stuff.   Most website info assume that we alread know it.  There are so many abbreviations for things that I would like to know what they mean and how to use it or do it to my web site.  I also would like to know how to get content for my blog and follow up emails.

Thanks for asking.

Teresa Baine — Sun, 11/02/2008 - 5:53pm

WOW! Can't Wait!

This will be wonderful for everyone! And how exciting for you. Good luck and looking forward to learning. Thank you!

Ginny Williams — Sat, 11/08/2008 - 6:50am

Jerry, great idea.

I personally ticked every box in the poll.  Because I want to master all of it.

It seems like the vast majority prefer online info to offline info but I'd just like to remind us all to not throw the baby out with the bathwater.  My most successful upline says he wouldn't be where he is today if he had just supported online recruiting.  Some of his leaders are very successful with that but the others are as successful with offline recruiting.

Mark Wieser also reminds us in Black Belt recruiting to not forget the value of connecting with people offline.

So for me the two go hand in hand and I'd like to see both covered in the show, as well as the Leadership & Posture.

Darag Rennie M... — Sat, 11/08/2008 - 1:40pm

Way to go! We need people like you!

Being such a big industry, Network Marketing has suffered for many years due to the fact that MLM has a very limited exposure out there. I am very happy to see that people with your talents and the resources to do this are finally taking action. Eventually, I believe that we are all going to be benefited by this show and more others to come.

Thanks Jerry because we all owe you for this idea! Just a little comment: Keep this show as pure as possible and let's not turn it into a publicity and pitching stunt for some big dogs out there. One reason I hate some of my company's meetings is because instead of promoting our business, some smart guys use this activities to just promote themselves and sell us their products. That's okay as long as the show doesn't become just into a presentation or infomercial. Sure I would like to learn about new products but also about how to be better at what I do. Please warn us if this show is about promoting just a particular group of affiliates, sorry but can't hold this suggestion. Let people know what NM is all about and how strong this industry reallly is!

To your success,

Richie G

Ricardo Gonzalez — Mon, 11/10/2008 - 12:28pm

Point well-taken

You brought up a very important point.  It will not be a pitchfest.

The idea is to bring in leaders from as many different opportunities as possible without mentioning their specific opportunities.  Same ground rules as MS and BN.

Are there going to be affiliate products involved? Maybe. But they will not be "pitched," and will be consciously limited to a P.S. or By-the-way kind of offer.

I think a talk show for network marketing is a brilliant idea. My eyes will be glued to the TV when this show launches. You should definitely interview all of the experts such as Mike Dillard, Dani Johnson, Tracy Biller, Mike Filsaime, and so on. You can also have contests, give away free bonuses and incentives, and hold national conventions as such. You get the idea. I am an upcoming network marketer and I am always looking for ways to market my business and make money. Therefore, I need all the training and advice I can get. I plan on staying updated on how this talk show will progress. I want to do everything I can to help make this happen. Thanks and have a great day...

I'd love to set the record

I'd love to set the record straight for zillions of people who think our industry is scammy.  People are so ignorant to the truth and by putting the industry in the spot light with reputable, ethical, caring individuals to start and break down this sterotype of home based business owners, it will open doors for all of us.  We are professional business developers (that's a title I enjoy using) and are committed to the highest standards in business the same as other people in their respective fields.

So that's a great topic I'd like to see as ongoing, and then simply teaching the "how to" market and "how to" talk to people.

With even these two things, you're bring credibility back into the home business industry, opening doors for all of us, and then beginning to build confidence in prospects that they can do this.

Let me know if you need some behind the scenes work done.

Debbie Turner — Sun, 12/28/2008 - 5:25pm

Awesome Jerry!!

I can't wait to see it.  I would love to see some names as well, Brian Williams, Janie Jones, plus a few names mentioned above.  Also, it would be very cool for those of us newbies out here to share some ideas with the new business owners out there that have tried to set up a brick and mortar business and make comparisons on startup costs for that vs start up costs for an online business, mostly because I have heard people complaining about startup costs on an online business and if some of them actually knew how much of a difference there is between the two I think they would be astounded, especially if they have been thinking about a new business of any kind they still have to put the word out about their business so learning how to talk to people and how to advertise.  I have heard so much regarding how much free stuff that is out there all for our use and it's not like these resources are hiding it's just knowing where to look.   I realize how much can be gained by straightening out the rep for Network Marketing both on and off line.

I know for me that most of my friends and family are very jaded and cynical regarding online stuff. I really don't understand why people treat online opps as if it were the plague and should be ran away from.  Personally, I think it has more to do with the business being visible and physical so that you can walkin a get what you need, vs putting a credit card # into their computer and hoping to get their product from an online source.

So yeah having a VIDEO talk show is great, Because in this society I am more likely to trust what I am listening to if I can read your eyes and body language vs just listening.

Keep on truckin'

Kim Williamson — Mon, 12/29/2008 - 2:06pm

Great Topic

Great topic, greater comments.  I especially liked Debbie Turner's on the lets call it Stigma to the industry.  Heck GM was MLM one tier but MLM,  oops!  Look what happened to them!!!  MY bad!!  LOL!

Get the point!
