Which Traffic Method Do You Want to Learn?

Group: Better Networker Newbies Guide

As a newbie, the only traffic methods I knew were Traffic Exchanges and Safelists. Not very good, though, if used correctly, they can get you a lot of traffic.

Then I discovered all those other wonderful methods, like blogging, articles, forums, ppc, ezines, .....

Truth is there are probably as many traffic methods as there are 'free reports' on the subject of traffic generation! Not all of them lead on to telling you about the others. I know people who have been in this business for years and are still only using traffic exchanges because they don't know any other way?

Ask yourself, how many splash pages or safelist ads have you seen recommending you to go submit an article to EzineArticles.com?

So tell us which ones you use currently, but more importantly, which ones do you want to learn. Note that some are more complex than others so might be beyond the scope of a 'newbies guide', but we can point you in the direction of where to get more advanced information if you want it.

As the Spice Girls said

"Just tell us what you want, what you really really want"

LOL, just realised The Spice Girls may not be that well known worldwide - a lot like some of the more effective traffic methods!

Thanks for bringing up this topic. Very good to know that you are on the lookout for us Newbies and what we would like to know more of. Thanks.

The ever illusive traffic...

I would love to learn about all forms of traffic generation. It would really be nice to see articles on each method that we can follow and test out on our sites.

Return on Time Invested

Susan, I was interested to read your post as the only material I have seen covered is ppc, ezines, blogs, articles etc. I hadn't come across safelists or traffic exchanges before. The inference I drew from your comments above is that safelists & traffic exchanges are not as effective at getting RESULTS as other methods. Is that correct?

I guess as newbies we are all struggling with making a value judgement on where to most effectively spend our time and not rattle off on all the tangents available here both on BN in particular & the web in general. Reminds me of the analogy that when you are up to "nether regions" in alligators it's hard to remember that the original intention was to drain the swamp! .....but I digress....

Ah, That's Classified Information

Sorry Dean

I could tell you about my relationship with The Spice Girls... But then I'd have to kill you. MI5 and all that! lol

Safelists and Traffic Exchanges

Hi Russell

No, You won't see much (if any) information here on BN regarding these traffic methods. And the answer is precisely as you have stated. They aren't as effective as other methods.

However, to the newbie, they are often all you know. They are free, easy to set up, and some allow you to make money if you take the upgrades and refer others.

Also, you will tend to find that they are populated mostly by 'newbies'. And others for whom 'newbies' are their target market. Now consider that if someone were providing truly valuable content to those newbies instead of the usual hype and BS?

Just a thought.

Trafic Exchange Markets

Providing valuable content on traffic exchanges is an interesting idea.

I wonder if it would work.  I remember (waaay back) when I first started playing with this stuff and to be honest I bought into the hype briefly.  I think like most newbies I wasn't interested in any of the sites - just getting my click throughs.

Which is what I got in return - lots of traffic no action.

However, now that I have a little more idea in what to offer it might be worth revisiting them ...

I think you would have to work on the principle discussed by Ryan Deiss

And The Winner Is....

Well, I guess it's not exactly a 'winner' as we will obviously cover all of the methods mentioned, since they all got some votes.

However, there are still some folks who haven't voted. Who knows, maybe those votes will come in later?

As it stands, "articles" seems to be the one most wanted at the moment. Which just goes to show how far 'newbies' have come on, even just since I started!  I'm impressed. :)

And yes Dean, the biggest trouble with TE's is that nobody is really looking to make money. They think they've already found it and are just wanting to get enough credits to get enough visitors to get enough sales, ....

But used correctly, you can get the traffic in half the time. After that, it all comes down to the same points, good capture page, copywriting, follow up system, etc.
