I'm a father, husband and self-professed geek. I got goosebumps when the iPad was released and consider my Mac one of my closest friends. OK, it's not quite that bad, but I do love that tech stuff!
I enjoy music, reading and am just learning to sail. I have flown sailplanes and have a deep interest in flight of all kinds. Of course I surf the web, and I write, and I help my wife, on occasion, in her role as chairperson of a local community garden. She does the political and admin work and I do some tech support and water the occasional garden, which is about as green as my thumb gets.
I graduated from High School (Lumsden, SK Canada) in 1980 and immediately took a job as a programmer. I worked for various organizations until 1996, when I took a full time technical training and courseware development position. In 2005, I left the company to start my own consulting, courseware development and training business.
Although this first step into entrepreneurship was satisfying, I quickly came to realize that I had really just traded one boss for several others. I was still tied to my "job" even though the business was my own.
I decided that I needed to take my love of training, technology and home business and use it to build a business that didn't require my constant attention, and which I could operate from where ever I chose to be. Network marketing seemed to fill the bill and in 2006 I joined a wonderful organization and proceeded to fall flat on my face!
I didn't get it. Why was such a simple business model so tough to make work?
After over two years of achieving zero success, I put on the brakes, and cradling my wounded ego, I started to look and learn how the business was really being done by successful networkers.
Fortunately the nuts and bolts answers for how to make a network marketing business go are quite readily available and after making a few logistical and mental adjustments I proceeded to get to work on the RIGHT way of approaching this business.
I'm currently woking on building my business, compiling what I've learned into materials to be used to train my team, and staying current in this wonderful industry. I'm starting to work out the "work from anywhere" lifestyle and looking forward to helping others do the same.
My one pet dream is to be doing business from my own, live-aboard sailing catamaran, which to me would be the ultimate mobile home-office.
