Confessions of a Former Network Marketing Hater
Yes, you read it correctly...I used to hate Network Marketing. I think my dislike for our industry probably stemmed from the fact that my parents got pressured to join Amway a few too many times way back when, and they passed on their hatred of MLM to me. Honestly, I didn't really know much about Network Marketing. I just thought it was "one of those pyramid things." And I certainly never thought it was something I would be involved with.
Well, I left my parents' home where I had my anti-Network Marketing indoctrination. I graduated from college, got a job I loved, and got accepted to grad school. Everything was going great in my life! To make things even better, I met an incredible guy, fell in love, and got married. We were young, we were broke, but we were in love. Life was still fantastic!
My outlook changed, though, when we decided we wanted to have children. See, I had always known that I wanted to be a stay-at-home mom when I had kids. I wanted to be the one singing songs, reading books, giving kisses...you know, all the fun stuff. The only problem was that there was NO way we could make it on my husband's income alone. So I had to look at other options.
There are lots of work-from-home options out there, and believe me, I looked at all of them! The only problem was that none of them provided the flexibility I needed if I was going to put my role as a mom first. And none of them gave me control over the income I could make.
That's when I turned to (gulp) Network Marketing. My brother and sister-in-law had joined a Network Marketing company and had been pestering us about their opportunity for awhile. I actually used and loved their products and decided it was time to take a look at the business. I was amazed at what I saw!
Needless to say, I joined and haven't looked back since. Network Marketing has allowed me to do exactly what I wanted--be home with my son every day. I get to see all of his smiles, kiss him better when he gets hurt, and provide the kind of environment that can help him grow up to be the best person he can be. I get to put my family first in my life...but I still have an income!
Now, the next thing on my list is to help my husband fire his boss. I'm not quite there yet, but I plan to be by the end of the year. And I have no doubt that I will be able to make it happen!
