I am life-long entrepreneur and coach. I have created projects since I was young, and began coaching a 10 & under girls basketball team at 15. I wrote “Dear Ann," pleading for her help in seeking permission from my parents to let me spend my allowance on letters for the girls’ sweaters. Case was closed with her "personal"affirmative reply. My family called me stubborn, before switching to determined. Smart move on their part. I resisted Network Marketing for FIFTEEN YEARS. Why? I had no desire to make that list of 100 and apply the 3ft., 10 ft., 100 ft. rule or whatever rule it is (yes, it keeps expanding!) by accosting any warm body within that area with my product pitch/biz opp.

People living in my investment properties and not being able to pay their rent created a paradigm shift. Make that SHIFT! I decided being broke..again...was not a viable option. I had already experienced that once.  Yes, barely a year after my business was named ASI (Advertising Specialty Institute) Small Business of the Year in the U.S. in 1995 (having started another business), I discovered my new business partners had embezzled everything. Dead broke...that was me. Back to now and real estate. I was fortunate. I met a lady at a short sale seminar in Seattle when the facilitator explained that we HAD to sit in a different seat after the break. I know. I don't sound like someone who automatically follows the rules, but I did in this situation and it paid off. Cathy Buchanan introduced me to a system that sparked my passion. BINGO. I was hooked. That became my primary business.  But coaching is in my blood...it's as much a part of who I am as my name! Giving without expectation...living life unattached to a specific outcome...helping individuals discover their own passion as they learn how to embrace the flexibility and options that financial freedom creates...these are the life forces that motivate me! Although I became successful quickly with my priamary business (particularly compared to the 97% who make little to nothing), I also realized that the way I was being "successful" would eventually only lead to a water hole that had dried up. That's when I said, "There's got to be a better way!"

I agree with my colleague Brooke Barnett, who said he wishes he had understood two things earlier in life...Sales Rule the World, and Marketing Rules Sales. Trust me when I say I thought I knew a little bit about promotions and marketing (remember my business was Small Business of the Year in that field!).  I discovered, however, that marketing in traditional businesses and marketing via the internet are two entirely different beasts.  Yes, they are both in the animal kingdom, but I had a lot to learn about the latter one. I was face to face with a  beast ready to chew me up and spit me out if I wasn’t willing to listen and learn from the best. That' why I say...Ancora Imparo!  Who said these famous words, what do they mean, and when were they spoken?  It was the great Italian renaissance artist Michelangelo, creator of such masterpieces as the Sistine Chapel and the sculpture of David.  It means "I am still learning," and he said it in his 87th year.  Given the scope of his achievement in painting, sculpture, poetry and architecture, this humility is striking and strongly reminiscenet of the Greek philosopher Socrates who said, "The wise man knows that he knows nothing."  This is never easy to admit, but seeminly continues to lead to my breakthroughs.

Rev. Dr. Lisa Davison's comment "Dotti sees the world as full of possibilities," spoken while officiating our wedding, made everyone laugh. Her observation applies to life, relationship and business for me.  When I say, "I was thinking," my friends know they are in store for some new exhilirating vision!

I was Women’s Basketball Coach at the University of Kentucky in the 80’s. I have continued coaching, though I ride a different vehicle. I support people in attracting empowered relationships, ultimate streams of income, and life opportunities. I instill in them the ability to grasp the Giraffe Principle, discovering how to look out above the clutter and see clearly, breathing the rarified that allows them to break through obstacles.
