Early in my work career I realized that I was an entrepreneur. I started Hartley Tours and Travel out of our basement and grew it to a New England (USA) operation having 22 branch offices, 21 deluxe motorcoaches and 130 employees. After 17 years of continuous growth, (mainly to the casino destination: Atlantic City, NJ) a local Indian group opened a casino. Overnight, our volume went from 50 buses per week into Atlantic City to 4 per month. Offices were closed and the buses were sold. My next venture was a business-to-business direct mail business called MaxiPaks. I would call on accounts from Pennsylvania to Maine. Everything was "coming up roses" as they say. Then the recession hit and it was as though someone shut off the spigot. No trickle of business. Nothing! Businesses could no longer afford to advertise. During my Hartley and MaxiPaks careers, I had always dabbled in network marketing as a side business. First with Amway where I can honestly say was my greatest mlm learning experience and then with Excel Communications. As a matter of fact, in Excel I reached one of their top positions as an Executive Director and a National Training Director. While in Excel I came to realize that by my helping more of my team members get what they wanted, I - in turn - would get what I wanted. Over the past couple of years my goal, probably like yours, was to find a legitimate internet focused business I could get involved with. An internet based marketing business that I would not have to hassle my friends or relatives into joining or buying overpriced products. A business led by leaders with integrity as well as a pay play that would pay me for the effort I put in with an unlimited growth opportunity and, just as important, offering products that HAD to be used repeatedly all day long.
