When I was a teen-ager, i often wondered (as i pass-by the exclusive residence of the so called "rich and famous" in my country (Philippines) "What does it take to accumulate wealth to be able to have a lifestyle of the "rich and famous". I never expected to inherit anything from my parents, who believed that the only wealth they could provide us (8 children) is to ensure that we get the best education. Hence, I was able to get high school diploma from the best parochial school (Paco Catholic School) and got an undergraduate degree in Economics and masters degree in Business Management from the best state school in my country (University of the Philippines). With this life's circumstance i believed that the only asset I have is myself, my being. Consequently, I made sure that I study hard, get good grades and be an "honor student". I believed that getting a good education is my only ticket to change my financial and social status, maybe even get wealthy. After graduation i got a job and thought that my ladder of success started. Unfortunately, i always felt stucked up--slow promotion, low income with piling up of job functions. Hence, I was always looking for a "greener pasteur" and moved from one job to another--sales administration, corporate planning, research, speculative marketing, stock trading, real estate sales, etc. After more than 20 years of employment, i got some sort of promotion to higher rank in the corporate community but the income level was still at subsistence level. In 2001 I decided that i should get into some business. The challenge then was to look for a business that required a small amount of investment. I did not have millions of money in the bank (at that time i had only about ph 30,000 (philippine peso). What kind of business can this measely amount fit into? During this same time my nephew suffered from a chronic skin and respiratory ashma. I good friend brought an herbal juice in the hospital. Surprisingly in two short days, the ashma disappeared. The whole family tried the product and our respective health challenges were all addressed. Since it was also during this period that i was looking for some business with just a small capital investment, i decided to join the home-based business. My belief then was that my risk was minimal (if not zero) because if I could not sell the products my family could just consume the product and stay healthy. After less than 2 years i started earning six-digit (Philippine peso)income which was a far cry from my salary as an employee. Thereby, I started learning more about multi level business, read books on leadership, mlm and health. I am now a National Marketing Director (two pin level away from the highest level-Global Marketing Director). I have been in this company for ten years. I still have many goals to fulfill. I am committed to reach the highest pin level in my company and do what other "gurus" in this business do--write a book and coach other people. The MLM business is the answer to my query when i was a teen-ager--IS THERE AN OPPORTUNITY TO ACCUMULATE WEALTH FOR THOSE WHOSE CIRCUMSTANCE IN LIFE IS TO BE BORN IN THE LOWER ECONOMIC ECHELON OF SOCIETY. THE ANSWER IS "YES, INDEED". AND, NOW......IT IS ALL UP TO ME UNRELENTLESSLY CONTINUE MY JOURNEY TOWARDS FINANCIAL FREEDOM.
