Probably like every kid, I was dreaming of a fulfilling, happy and successful life. I knew when I would grow up I would be driving the car of my dreams, living in the house of my dreams, traveling the world, etc. But we all know that somewhere along the way we lose our dreams. We begin to think it’s unrealistic to dream that big or we just decide that what we have is not that bad, some are in worst situations than we are and we should appreciate what we have. That’s how we start to give up on our dreams.
Personally, I never gave up on those dreams. Some people think I am stubborn but I would say I am persistent. My father used to own a traditional business and worked long hours to create a substantial income to enjoy in his golden years. That was not what I was looking for, I wanted to enjoy now!
I was 18 years old when I was introduced to that business for the very first time.
I was listening to my father explaining a strange concept to some family members. I sat there and listened while he was talking about a method of doing business called Multi-Level Marketing (MLM).
He drew a bunch of circles on a sheet of paper. That was the first time I had ever seen those circles. You know the ones: This circle is you, and these five circles are the people you personally sponsor… and these 25 circles represent… and so on "down-the-line."
Well, I was literally blown away!
All the rest of the day, I just couldn’t get those circles out of my mind. I was so excited I thought I was going to explode. I’d never been so enthusiastic about anything before in my entire life!
It wasn’t the products that turned me on. And it wasn’t the possibility of, "After all these years in a dead end job, here, at last, was a chance for me to be successful." I was just going to school and had fantastic ideas for a bright future, as most kids have.
That wasn’t it. It was this: For the first time in my life, I’d been shown a business system that made complete and total sense to me.
Here was a way to achieve everything I ever wanted in life—by helping others! Here was a way that my success in life could be directly proportionate to the level of service and support I provided for other people. Incredible!
Fast forward to the last few years, I joined 3 companies, struggled for years trying to find THE secret. When I decided to go back in Network Marketing, I didn't look for the best compensation plan, the best product or the newest in town. The only thing that mattered to me was the ability and willingness of my sponsor to help me. That's why I went shopping for a sponsor. And when I found him, he taught me what I needed to master first, even before I start generating leads. What he trained me on relates to what Mike Dillard recently said "When all of your internet marketing is said and done, it's your ability to connect and communicate with your prospects that will ultimately determine your success. For months, I have felt like a coach on a football field inventing one strategy after another, implementing, refining, polishing and adapting the content of my web site. I also have read a lot of different marketing techniques over the past months. It's always the same. On my desk were laying mountains of old notes (I've tried everything else). However.
