New Medical Discovery about Osteoarthritis – Can It Be Repaired?

Read More: Article Marketing
New research published in Arthritis Research & Therapy shows that cells from osteoarthritic knees have abnormally shortened telomeres, and that the percentage of cells with ultra-short telomeres increases the closer to the damaged region within the joint. While the shortening of telomeres is an unavoidable side effect of getting older, telomeres can also shorten as a result of sudden cell damage, including oxidative damage.

What are Telomeres you may ask?  Well, I’ve included a short video to explain it in more detail, but it all stems from a 2009 Nobel Prize Winning Team who made a profound discovery!  Watch the video now, then continue reading below.

Researcher Maria Harbo explained, "We see both a reduced mean telomere length and an increase in the number of cells with ultra-short telomeres associated with increased severity of OA. Simply explained as biological aging and aging cartilage within joints is unable to repair itself properly."

She continued, "The telomere story shows us that there are, in theory, two processes going on in OA. Age-related shortening of telomeres, which leads to the inability of cells to continue dividing and to atrophy, and ultra-short telomeres, caused by compression stress during use and oxidation stress from free radicals, which lead to failure of the joint to repair itself.

Their results showed that average telomere length was, as expected, shortened in OA, but that also 'ultra-short' telomeres, thought to be due to oxidative stress, were even more strongly associated with OA.

Tom Mower, President & Chief Science Officer of Sisel International says TS-X will negate oxidative stress while the telomere support ingredients maintain the integrity and length of the telomeres. Other ingredients provide natural medicines powerful nutraceutical support to the building of healthy long telomere units.

By following Tom’s recommended all-natural regime, you could lengthen your telomeres, which could result in the elimination of osteoarthritis and possibly rheumatoid arthritis.  This is fantastic news for anyone who suffers with these conditions. We’re excited about the breakthroughs being found regarding telomeres, and Sisel’s ability to create safe, non-toxic and affordable solutions to keep us all healthier!
