Marketing Lesson for Musicians - Dodger Stadium Opening Day

Read More: Marketing

I recently attended opening day at Dodger Stadium for a sold out game against the Arizona D-backs (or D-Bags according to a few t-shirts being sold).

Before the game, while walking through the parking lot, from a far I heard the faint sounds of "Tamborazo", which is essentially a Mexican Marching Band. They attracted HUGE crowds, lots of dancing and all around good time.

As we continued walking, we ran into a Ragtime Band playing near the entrance. Their crowd was significantly smaller, but they did manage to get a sympathy dollar donation from one of the latinos in attendance.

The marketing lesson here is obvious.

Viva Los Dodgers!!!

We do we and the musician in

We do we and the musician in the video all have in common? We all go to where people are. As network marketers we use sites like BNW, twitter, facebook, google, and others which is where people are.

Go Dodgers!!

Having grown up near Dodger Stadium this was awesome to see again. But this video is very true to statement. Knowing your target market is crucial. Thank you for this great post!

Musicians or marketers...

...professors or politicians, everyone's messages are best communicated when they know and understand their market/audience. Simple, not easy, but critical to success. :-)

Musician and Marketer

Well I'm both so I will keep that statement close to home. Thanks. My next site is going to be music based. I am now trying to figure the exact niche I'll be going for. My first site is what amounts to a marketing whore but I plan to funnel that down some when I settle into a good groove. I'm still figuring out what I will be best at. Still learning after being serious in marketing for only six months. I live 40 min. from Rockville, been there 100's and worked there dozens. Trafics real bad there as you can figure. My cousins grew up there, went to plenty of Christmas midnight masses there.

Musician or Marketer?

I think it is great that we all take the outside world and use it as a learning device on a daily basis. Look around you and see what works best-in marketing terms i mean. Knowing your target market and getting the attention from that market is two different things. Two different steps if you will. Dont assume that you know the target markets needs. In marketing it is not wise to make assumptions.
