Cudos. Voting For Quality Over Quantity

Great advice Marc.

I think that the "blank" default photo on facebook is a little scaring if not say "not so friendly or intimate" :)

I usually do not delete people from Facebook, usually people are kind and respectful but once I did to someone marketer who had never spoken to me in person but was using my page in order to spam my Facebook friends and get exposure from me.

I warned him very gently that this is not right thing to do and that he can spam all he wants on his page, not mine. He did it twice. So I did delete him because of being disrespectful and obviously very "desperate" :)

Your tips are great for everyone that is starting online advertising, and some others not so new but a little "immature".

Have a great week and keep on with your great advices.

Joanna Vaiou

good advice

Thanks for your tips. I have at least a dozen people that have requested me as a friend with no message as to why. Since hacking is a possibility. I think it is important to send a message as to why the friend request is being sent.
Do you set up a limited profile for your marketing peers?
Thanks, Susanna

There is nothing COMMON abut COMMON Sense...

Great info for newbie Facebookers Marc.

It is all common sense..and there is NOTHING common about common sense.

Facebook...for that matter any of these social networking sites is like an online resume for networkers...

A great resume open doors...

What do you think about using Fan Pages...???
Would love to hear your opinion...

Thanks for sharing your Video

Preference is important, too. People must work with a style that suits them -- and be GENUINE.

I liked the call to use Social Networks and be a supporter of quality content, including links that operate properly. Any "network" is like a "garden" and needs constant care -- online or offline.

IF it feels natural to comment or chat with others I will as long as my interest is sincere.

On the games, I love them and I enjoy letting people know how I spend my few, precious moments of ME-time, especially now in Minnesota (31 degrees) in winter.

However, I am a passive networker -- people have to do what suits their situation best.

Thanks again,
ziex

Great Tips

Marc:
This is a great video. Thanks for sharing.

When I first signed up with Facebook my only reason was to connect with one of the youth from our church who invited me to be a friend. I connected with other friends as well as more of the youth at the church.

It's only over the last year or so that I have taken it seriously and used it to connect with people I don't know personally. Now I'm on quite a few social/business networks and enjoying it. It's a great way to build relationships with other network marketers. We can learn from one another without aggressively promoting our own businesses.

Keep up the good work.

Great Information about Connecting with Social Media!

Hi Marc,

Great video on what not to do in social media. I often think back to how people used to elevate their profiles in their local communities way back when before the internet. They would participate in fund raising, golf events, advisory groups, new membership groups, school boards, PTA, chamber, rotary, charity, etc., they never came into the social network and spammed everybody with their offering. Instead they focused on building their value and they positioned themselves as a community resource thus elevating their profile resulting in more followers. This has been proven in the past and this is what true leaders do.

Social media works the same way except with a massive multiplier. I really liked your comment about not having a bunch of Mafia War game info on your profile or even worst, not having a profile, nobody wants to befriend a ghost! I'll re-tweet this to my followers, great information and I'm looking forward to more!

Great Advice and Information

I am just learning the ins and out of Network Marketing. And these social network sites can be somewhat confusing when you are trying to set things up and getting involved. Your video helps a lot in that respect.

This was Great Timely Advice

I use FB all the time for marketing and social purposes and it's unreal how many "attraction marketing" and "network marketing" gurus, friend me up just so they can market to me and advertising on my wall. some people do way too much pitching. I think this video should be tweeted all over the place. Thanks for taking the time to create it.

Rasul Davis — Mon, 12/07/2009 - 12:06pm

Great advise for anyone who wants Success.

if you advertise on my profile, send me a Mafia wars gift or something from Farmville... I may delete you...

As a rule, like mentioned here, I use social networking site to build relationships and attract more professional people to my business...

A little fun along the way is alright but come on now, I don't want or need an animal for my farm or a secret package from your mafia...

Peace and love

Mike

p.s. keep up the great postings.

Music to the ears

I am frequently on Facebook and have many network marketing friends and nothing irritates me more than receiving messages from someone offering advice they claim is free (the rope a dope) or suggesting I take a look at their information. There are self-proclaimed coaches all over the place. Hello, if I want your advice I'll ask you for it.

Vice nicely done!

Marc, thanks for these very importants tips you shared about Facebook marketing. One that I really liked was on focusing on the quality and not the quantity. For a long time, I have been trying to increase my friends list which I think has its place but I have come to the understanding that focusing on relationships with the friends I already have what's important. Thanks for the reinforcement!

Best wishes,
Shirley Muhammad

Shirley Muhammad — Mon, 12/07/2009 - 1:45pm

I like the one...

Great tips, I like the one mentioned about quality vs quantity. It's about connecting to other people and not about posting articles and new pictures. No body cares unless you care about them.

Mystery Man

I liked the one about the mystery man without a face. that's like a blind phone number on your phone, that's say " private"that's a suspicious person shrouded in mystery. So I agree with your suggestion to put your photo on your Facebook page. Great Advice.
