I'm Gonna Be Sick...But It Had to Be Done...

Read More: Video Marketing

I finally did it...

I am actually getting a little sick to my stomach thinking about even POSTING this article...

What did I do?

Well, I'm coming clean about one of the biggest obstacles I've faced in developing my brand online...

So how am I going to do this?

I'm putting myself to the test!

I'm competing against myself and my completely unnatural fear of videos.

This is going to be interesting to say the least...

If I'm totally honest with you I cringe at the way I look and sound on camera, DESPITE the fact that videos are a far faster and effective method of getting out my valuable content to my readers. ; )

Why the sudden change of heart?

The fact of the matter is that YouTube is a GIANT marketing platform...

  • YouTube has over 2 BILLION (with a "B") searches PER DAY which is nearly DOUBLE the prime time audience on ALL THREE major US Broadcast Networks COMBINED!
  • The average person spends 15 Minutes PER DAY on YouTube.
  • Every minute, 24 hours of video is uploaded to YouTube.
  • 94 of Advertising Age's 100 Top Adverisers have run campaigns on YouTube and the Google Content Network.

Can you really afford to ignore Video Marketing any longer with these stats?!?

“U.S. Internet users viewed a record 14.3 billion online videos during [December], representing an increase of 13 percent versus the previous month.”
“Nearly 150 million U.S. Internet users watched an average of 96 videos per viewer in December [2008].”
“78.5 percent of the total U.S. Internet audience viewed online video.”
“Search query volume on the five core search engines increased 21 percent in 2008 from the previous year.”
“Online video viewing accounted for 12.5 percent of Americans’ total time spent on the Internet in November 2008, up from 8.5 percent the previous year.”
“U.S. Internet users viewed a total of 4.5 trillion display ads during the past twelve months, with the average person viewing more than 2,000 ads per month.” Source: comScore, Feb. 2008
“80% of web users have watched a video ad online, 52% took action after viewing the ad. 15% visited the store and 12% made a purchase” “Consumers are using online video ads to help make purchasing decisions.” Source: Yellow Pages.

According to a survey by Princeton Survey Research Associates Intl:

“81% of internet users look for information online about a service or product they are thinking of buying.”
“89% of internet users use an online search engine to help find information on the Web.”

The Bottom Line.

YouTube can potentially increase your business' online presence dramatically, for a fraction of traditional marketing costs. Knowing all of that, I had to take a leap and move forward with Video Marketing, and I'm inviting you to come along for the ride... Check it out!

Now before you go- Don't forget to VOTE (in the top left corner), and share your thoughts and suggestions...but try to be nice...since I'm new to this video stuff! ; )

To the Top!

Keep 'em coming, Natasha...

Cathie Heath — Wed, 10/20/2010 - 7:46am

Simply brilliant Natasha!

For a moment, well OK, quite a while there, I was seeing myself in your video - all the same reasons, the same list.

I took the bull by the horns a couple of weeks ago & also started with videos! I HAD to as my primary business goes about video!

I really like the way you presented the video with the combination of PP & you "live" & being yourself. Makes the video "watchable".

Keep them coming I can't wait to see the rest.

Thanks for inspiring me!

Michael B Wilbraham — Wed, 10/20/2010 - 9:44am

Re Congratulations!

Thanks Joyce :) Chatting with you the other day REALLY is what set this whole thing in Motion. This weekend I'm off to watch all of your videos! Keep up the great work!

Re: Fabulous

Awww thanks Cathie! Your kind words mean a LOT...especially since I was LITERALLY sick to my stomach posting the video. I even closed my eyes and clicked the "Publish" button! LOL : )

Now that I ripped the Bandaid off, I'm thinking it will get easier. The next step is getting over the Perfectionism thing...

Margi Starr — Wed, 10/20/2010 - 12:06pm

I Love IT

Natasha, this was totally cool :)

I've been making a fool of myself on video for about the past year, and trust me when I tell you I Never Get It "right", but it really does work.

My challenge- consistently working my daily plan of action for 30 days straight, NO Excuses!

Take Care,

Tears of Joy

Juanita, Charlie, Willena, Lynn, Vikki, David & Margie-

Ok, I have to tell y'all just how happy all of your comments have made me. (And the previous comments by Michael, Cathie and Joyce) Like, I'm smiling but have tears running down my face at the same time (in a good way) :)

Getting in front of that darn camera has been a major challenge, and taking this first step (and especially putting it out there on Better Networker and Facebook) was HUGE for me.

But after just a short while, having your kind and thoughtful words pour in to support and encourage me...well, it just makes the whole thing SO worthwhile, and makes me want to do even more videos and continue this challenge.

This is just reason # 5007 why I LOVE this industry!

If you are going to try to attempt to do a videos or are just starting to do videos- please let me know where I can find them!

To the Top,

Natasha Nassar ... — Wed, 10/20/2010 - 2:15pm

WOW You Rocked it !

Authentic, inspiring & funny! I look forward to your next videos! It sure doesn't LOOK like a first video. Your a natural at this.

Chinna Liddell — Wed, 10/20/2010 - 4:41pm

Natasha -
I've watched several videos....
But I've NEVER watched where someone "puts it all out there" the way YOU DID!
Woman, you ARE such an inspiration!
And SERIOUSLY. We are sending the talent scouts up to Boise. I'm seeing something like a weekly comedy sitcom around a
hard working Attorney that is building her MLM business alongside her husband and doggy children. And ALL the behind the scene activity that goes on in the process. The UNPERFECT activity that goes on. Anyone that is "in the business" REALLY KNOWS it's not perfect and there are mistakes made. But why do we think that it IS perfect? Are we misinterpreting or are we being fed inaccurate expectations?
YOU are one of the "going against the grain" nation. Telling us up front and like it is. AND IT'S SO REFRESHING!!
That's why we keep coming back to your articles and your website - it's like a wellspring of fresh water.
Grab a bucket when you click a Natasha Nassar article - because you can rest assured you are going to come away with bucket loads of information, ideas, or in this instance - INSPIRATION!!

Or, the Reader's Digest version of a response -
You ROCK woman!

Kim Steadman — Wed, 10/20/2010 - 5:27pm

Thanks Danny and Laura! Sitting down to do the next one shortly :)

Chinna- Wow! You're too kind! I have to admit I did do a couple of "testimonials" this summer, that only took me like WEEKS to do, and were only put on the individual's websites!

Kim- You are such a doll! You're not the first person who has mentioned a comedy series about my life! Jerry Chen was pretty convinced that Rich and I could do a stellar Reality TV: Internet Marketer series Hmmmmm we may have to think about that...LOL!

Natasha Nassar ... — Wed, 10/20/2010 - 7:22pm

You are one talented lady!!!

Natasha, you are hitting it out of the ball park sharing your fears and challenges around doing video. It is so funny now I fully understand why you were not so excited about video marketing when I spoke to you about it a few months ago.

Your creativity, honesty and downright fun straight forward approach are so engaging. Love how you tackle the perfectionism piece which is one of my own personal challenges.

I agree with the lady that said, lets send the talents scouts out to Boise.

You rock girlfriend.

Faith Barnard — Wed, 10/20/2010 - 10:50pm

Hey Natasha

You would have loved the webinar tonight. Jerry Chen came on board and critiqued our videos. He absolutely rocked !
I'm sorry you missed that portion of the youincstar challenge.
Talk soon and good luck as you progress on your journey.

Joyce Penner — Wed, 10/20/2010 - 11:13pm

Re: You are one talented lady!!!

Thanks Faith! Yes, you now know the truth @ why I was so hesitant about video marketing ; ) Send the talent scout my way....that way I'm 1 step closer to my REAL goal...winning an Oscar! LOL ; )

Natasha Nassar ... — Thu, 10/21/2010 - 1:00pm

Re: Hey Natasha

I heard all about Jerry's awesome webinar!

Fortunately for me, Jerry's a good friend, so he was actually one of the first (if not the first) to watch my debut video... ;)

Truth be told- my first ever REAL video online was a testimonial for Jerry (which shows how much I really admire and respect him!) and that one only took me, oh- a month or so, to create.

I'm glad that the YouIncStar group got the chance to get Jerry's advice too, because he really knows what he's talkin' about!

Natasha Nassar ... — Thu, 10/21/2010 - 1:05pm

Great Job Natasha

great job on your debut video Natasha.
Crisp audio and video. The "slide/real life" transitions were fun.
Good luck with your challenge; can't wait to see what's next.

Richard Bravo — Thu, 10/21/2010 - 5:07pm

You Got It Down Natasha !

Great Job On The Video Natasha !
I would say that you definitely have it down. Keep up the
Great Work !

Re: Great Job Natasha

Thank you SO much! I've definitely been having some fun making videos on our new Mac :)

Loved your first video by the way- you're really great on camera!
I didn't realize you were near us out west... we're in Boise!

Re: You Got It Down Natasha !

Thanks Steven! With all of this positive feedback, I'm definitely going to keep it up.

I'm actually starting to enjoy this video thing...who knew?!?

video Obstacle

OK Natasha,

I loved your video that you did regarding Mike Klingler. It was excellent. I like you haven't done video as I felt I'm not good enough! I haven't ventured on line as yet as it seemed too daunting. have you found value in Mike's work. I love what he has to say. I am weighing the pro and cons of going on line and taking away time from building my primary. Your comments helped. Thanks so much and from one professional to another, you are a gal that is right up my alley, figuring out this NM stuff.

To your continued success.

Hi Carol!

Hi Carol!

Thank you so much for your kind words and support...I really do appreciate it! I would be happy to chat with you sometime to help you hash out the pros and cons of coming online. Just shoot me a private message.

I have found TREMENDOUS value in what Mike has to say- and in fact, once I put into action what he was talking about, I saw my results increase tremendously.
