a real short conversation ...
well I can tell you one thing is for sure ...
"scam" or not, I can't say.
But if someone comes snoopin around my property (which includes my car, no matter where it may parked, be it a mall parking lot, on the side of a road, etc. - thats MY private property) and my license plate is federally issued private property ... if someone comes snoopin around writing my shit down - they're gonna have a real short conversation with an aluminum bat. A good old fashioned wild west ass whoopin.
Again, whether this outfit is a scam or not is less concern to me as much as the absolute disastrous social implications it has. I mean really, in today's social climate you really think we need a bunch of thrill seekers roaming around writing people's license plates down. I can see it now ... these "reps" lurking around the shadows, hiding behind cars, watching people come and go waiting for them to leave the car parked some where so they can grab a clear look at the license plate. I can tell you right now someone's gonna get their ass handed to them sooner or later.
There's enough garbage in our lives already dealing with privacy and security issues. And these guys choose to "recruit" any joe off the street to build their database?
If it does pick up steam I guarantee it will end badly.

Couldn't agree more. I think
Couldn't agree more. I think this thing is doomed from the get go. Just my humble opinion.
Another question ?
Thanks for the info Troy. I've also seen something called Data network, or something like that. It sounds like the same type of service. Could you do a review of that sometime? Thanks.

What Has Happened To Honor and Integrity...???
I have been receiving all sorts of "You have NOTHING TO LOSE by getting involved with NARC That Car" emails....
um....
Privacy is a HUGE thing to lose. Bottom line - I have no idea where all of that information is going...and who is going to be using it...and to what end...
This thing gives me a really icky feeling ... like Gestapo Germany when kids and neighbors were selling out their parents and friends ... !!!
Trading someone else's private information for profit IS NOT an ethical or honorable way to help mankind. What happened to honoring the Golden Rule...Do unto others what you would have done unto YOU...???
The fact that people are agreeing to do this thing...and paying money to be part of something like this makes me sick to my stomach ...
Oh PLEASE - show me how to get rich w/o lifting a finger...
Greed. Selfishness. Short Sightedness.
And the predators who design "programs"
that prey and feast on ignorance as a
"target market" - not with a ten foot pole.
Cmon peeps... you KNOW this is shady.

... like Gestapo Germany!
" This thing gives me a really icky feeling ... like Gestapo Germany when kids and neighbors were selling out their parents and friends ... !!! "
EXACTLY! This is a huge invasion of privacy.
Who knows who the hell they are willing to sell that database to. or which "lien holders" are willing to let their "pedophile" buddy access their membership for a case of beer, and now this guy has the potential to track everywhere your wife, daughter, sister, cousin, their habits and where they have been throughout the city.
Yeah ... this is a brilliant idea. (NOT!)
Personally I'm calling for a ban of this company and it's members on this site. Sometimes there is a line that must be drawn in the name of what is right ... That time is right now!
Exemptions have been put in place for the ABN, this should hold an even higher priority in my opinion.
To the People I Ask... What Say You?
Case In Point ...
OK guys, see, this is what I'm talking about.
In a recent blog post by a Narc, homeboy is sitting in his car writing down everyones license plate numbers before he goes in for breakfast. He tries to play it off by saying ...
"So I decided I would take the opportunity to get a free breakfast at Dennys, and I sat in my car and wrote down a whole page of license plates. Hahaha they would pull in the parking lot and see how full it was and leave. So I wrote down all the license plates I could."
Now let me ask you ... Are you cool with that?
Does it sit well with you to know that now you can't even get a damn cup of coffee and some pancakes without a bunch of twits spying on you and your family, tracking where you've been throughout your day and reporting it to some mystery data harvester?
Who by the why, turns around and sells that information.
Man, this one really pisses me off!
Old school, you'd get your ass beat down for this kind of stuff.
Has society become so stupid and lazy that this is considered an "opportunity?"
WOW!
"if someone comes snoopin around writing my shit down - they're gonna have a real short conversation with an aluminum bat. A good old fashioned wild west ass whoopin." "Old school, you'd get your ass beat down for this kind of stuff." WOW! I will pray for you-violence is never the answer.
While we are all entitled to own own opinions, I would suggest EVERYONE do their own due diligence on whatever opportunity as an American you chose to do.
I personally will take the much higher road and not "bad mouth" anyone, anything, or any opportunity. You have the right to say yes or no.
I own my own used car lot where I chose to loan money to consumers to be able to provide their families with transportation. Now, when they "hide" the car that I graciously loaned them the money for that they did not have, because they have not paid me for several months, will not call me, and just decide to basically "steal" my property (until that car is paid in full they do not own it entirely) I am just supposed to be OK with that and just take a loss? As for the comment in the video "what happens if my wife and daughter are stranded by the repo man", with all due respect, Had you been PAYING for that car in the first place, or communicated with the leinholder to make arrangements YOU WOULD NOT PUT YOUR OWN FAMILY AT RISK FOR REPOSESSION.- YOU-AND-YOU ALONE! So us as leinholders are just supposed to say, its ok, dont pay me, no problem! I do not think so! We have families as well that count on our business to take care of.
Also, working with Code Amber is a fantastic idea! Let me ask you, if GOD FORBID your child, or a relative were abducted, dont you think that this information could possible help, if the car was ever spotted anywhere? I think so!
If your own personal car was stolen, do you not think this could possibly help the police is locating your vehilce? I think so!
Also, it is important to understand that NO ONE is targeted by any way shape or form-this is completely random.
Whether you agree or disagree, the great thing is we all have the opportunity to say yes or no, and can do so PROFESSIONALLY and not take a low road to "bash" something you have not even done due diligance on. Please inform yourself, then form your opinion, and if it for you GREAT,if it is not GREAT!
I have chosen to involve myself with Narc that Car, and I have been completely satisifed 100%!
By the way, the "retail" is the data itself!!
Turko File Opened!
I am from San Diego and just saw on the news about people getting their cars towed away at an abandoned grocery store parking lot. The folks parked their cars to go into neighboring businesses, to include a health clinic. The signs posted were for customer parking only- for the now closed grocery store! In this case, a towing company has employed someone seen writing down plate numbers resulting in the cars being towed. The cost to these people was 400.00 for the tow and an additional 60.00 for the recovery fee. I assume this 60.00 is for the son of a bitch that is staking out this parking lot. This is a travesty! The area in which this takes place is one of the most financially depressed and a huge Hispanic community that do not read English.
Imagine, going into a health clinic with your sick children only to come out to no car? You already have to decide between feeding your kids or keeping the lights on at home. Now, someone tells you you need 460.00 to get your car back?!
Sure, there are jobs out there that people do that compromise my moral compass. But this is just sad.
Not only sad, but a scam and I suspect illegal. Right to privacy and all that goes out when we are in public places. But the towing company obviously is making bank with this.
Turko is a local lawyer here in San Diego. He takes on cases like these and exposes them on television. His motto is "It Ain't Right!" So true.
He will be visiting the tow company and will attempt to speak with the spotter, that is writing the plate numbers down.
So, if you are involved with anything like this, be aware of the hardships your opportunity is causing people.
If it doesn't help people, and give you a good feeling each day, then what is the purpose?
The comments by Becky about the code Amber sounds like a good idea. But Amber Alert was put in place to catch suspected kidnappers. A community effort with one thing in mind- save a life, not profit from it. Amber Alert is already paid for by tax payers and proven to be effective. I do not see how this is a business opportunity. I see it as preying on the emotions of already distraught parents.
In response to Kathy Ancheta
I cannot imagine how a tow company going to an abandoned parking lot to repeadily tow cars can be "assumed" to be linked with Narc that Car.
What that sounds like to me(being around several tow companies with the car lot) is that whoever owns the property (not the grocery store that abandoned the place, the actual owner of the property) has posted his signs stating that he/she wants no one to be on his/her property unless they are a consumer. When there is no business there would be no consumers allowed, which would be his/her right. It sounds as though he/she has a relationship with a tow company to keep people off his/her property. I know several business owners that do just that. We also had a similar situation in Waco, TX years ago, long before Narc that Car, where a KMart closed, & several people were parking their cars in there, & they had them towed as well. It just depends on who the owner of the property is.
There would be absolutely no reason whatsoever for a tow company to need anyone to write down a plate number for them to tow an illegally parked car. That is what they specialize in! There is no reason to have to run a plate number. Its not authorized to be there, so they would just simply tow it. What would be the REASON for a tow if it is not illegally parked? If it is on a property that clearly states no parking, & the tow company has a contract with the owner of the property, that is all they need to pick up any cars anytime, so by your words, its sounds like they are targeting this area. Must happen alot, so they have "realized" there is alot of money in it. THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH NARC THAT CAR. That is between the tow company and the property owner-maybe they are splitting the profits, who knows!
Sounds simliar to cops and "speed traps". They have their "signs" at what speed limits and yet people continually get tickets because its in an area that speeding just happens all the time, and we as consumers need to pay more attention to what is posted. Im like everyone else in that reguard, I dont like getting tickets either but if I was speeding, I was speeding. Accountability. We all must be accountable for our own actions.
AGAIN, THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH NARC THAT CAR.
Question for Kathy Ancheta
I was doing some research when I ran across this thread. I pulled this quote from your comment: "The area in which this takes place is one of the most financially depressed and a huge Hispanic community that do not read English.
Imagine, going into a health clinic with your sick children only to come out to no car? You already have to decide between feeding your kids or keeping the lights on at home. Now, someone tells you you need 460.00 to get your car back?!"
So you are saying that people do not have to follow the law if they don't speak the language? Seems to be a perfect reason to travel to other countries and wreak havoc. Try that logic in let's say... Turkey. I would think, if the person is already in the decision making mode between feeding their kids and keeping the lights on, that it would be prudent to make the decision to not put your car in jeopardy. I recall those thin years right after college as being a time when I didn't tempt fate by speeding down the highway drunk. Paying huge fines would have been counterproductive to what I was trying to accomplish. Property owners have the right to protect their assets and if they don't want people parking on their property, the law affords them that right.
