My New Toy :Tesla Motors

This is a glimpse of the Tesla Roadster, Designed in Silicon Valley by Tesla Motors she is all electric!

She runs 220 miles on a single charge, 256 MPG equivalent

has a 1000 pound Lithium (cell phone type) battery in her, and guess what?

She goes 0-60 in 3.9 seconds and has out ran the Porche and Ferrari no problem.

Max speed is 225 MILES PER HOUR

Why? Since this car is all electric when you accelerate you maintain 100% TORQ.

While the other cars are losing momentum between gears she is not.

Hello two seater hot rod with innovation and style.

Tesla IS available right now.

You can order them from teslamotors.com but the only way to drive one is to take a trip to Beverly Hills where the only current dealership stands. (Major cities across the U.S. will be approached for dealerships starting in 2009) providing that the demographics are right for that city.)

This car is marketed to the rich and famous and loaded it costs around $140,000. Not bad when you check the price tag of an Aston Martin or other popular toys.

And its electric! A silent car, that doesn't run on gas and can Fly- who wouldn't want that?

The average person commutes 32 miles round trip to a JOB. (Me when I go to work commute 64 miles round trip, because I opted to have Trees and green space where I currently live.) This being the case the price tag for the average person (in the right demographic) isn't bad. No more gas expense and Tesla has a heck of a maintenance and service plan!

Here is some fun math for you :)The Car would pay for itself in 3.5 years!

32 miles a day x 7 days a week (if you do some shopping on the weekends) = 224 miles a week

National Gas price per gallon average $4.00 x 224 miles= $896.00 a week (SAVINGS)

896.00 x 52 weeks (and we know gas will go up but just for this example) = $ 46,592.00 Year

You do have to order the Tesla...

Since Lotus is making them for Tesla Motors you do currently have to be on a 15-18 month waiting list to get your car. Movie stars and rock stars are currently snatching them up. Arnold here in the video, Sting has one and Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers is on the wait list for his to arrive in Nov or  Dec. Merry Cmas Flea!

Tesla Motors has a family sedan that can do 0-60 in 4 seconds poised to kick the Toyota Camry to the proverbial curb in 2010. The first prototypes of that model will hit Hollywood and you tube in 2009. They also have the family mini-van coming right behind that.

This, as much as I love an Aston Martin (Handsome Rob: Italian Job) is so much more MY SPEED :D

From a Marketing stand point:

Tesla Motors building the only dealership currently in Beverly Hills was a major step in the right direction. As Mike Dillard talks about the Alpha's in Magnetic Sponsoring getting one of them behind the wheel is a fantastic marketing plan.

Celebrities are an easy brand.

Each one represents a style of people or persons. To get one in the car and caught on film is definitely a seller for the cars.

You do have to put yourself in a celebrity mentality when it comes to your marketing.

They don't care about the small stuff because they focus only on what matters. Marketing. If you think a celebrity isn't always marketing you would be wrong. That face, body and name that they have are worth millions per project. To not constantly be marketing would be instant failure.

Tesla will have no problem dominating the market by 2010 when other car companies (like GM's Chevrolet ) are only releasing a few vehicles that are partial electric or worse Hybrid Hydro gens which do not produce the same kind of clean, clear, true power.

This is the second vehicle I will be buying this year.

I didn't even know something like this existed. It's not advertised and it's exclusive. I would miss the motor though...I love the sound a motor makes when driving an aston martin...rrrrrrr
