Law of Sowing & Reaping

Read More: Mindset

Today I want to talk about the principle of sowing and reaping.

The story of the sower is in the bible (Matthew 13:1-9)

Firstly you will notice that the sower was ambitious and completes the task! He knew if he did his part that there would be a harvest. The hope of the harvest drove him to action. Also note that the seed was excellent seed and each seed had the potential to yield a harvest.

The sower goes out to sow and some falls by the wayside, some falls on rocky soil, some falls amongst thorns and thistles and some falls on good ground. This is the principle and this cannot be changed – so know what to expect. Notice also that the sower had enough seed and that he took into account the amount of seed that would not be part of the harvest into his calculations. The sower also understands about the law of averages and knows to keep on sowing when he sees some seed falling by the wayside, on rocky ground, amongst the weeds and on the good ground.

The seed that falls by the wayside is taken and eaten by the birds. You can relate that to when you invite some, you will find that they say yes then change their mind. Some dream stealer comes in and distracts them from the opportunity. Danger is to try and chase the birds away, this is a big distraction and will take you away from the task at hand!

Some of the seed falls into rocky or shallow ground, where the seed sprouts quickly but soon withers in the hot sun where it has shallow roots. You can relate this to some will make a start but soon will give up at the first obstacles they face…they have no deep emotional attachment to their ‘why’ they are doing the business.

The sower knows how to discipline his disappointment and keeps on sowing!

Some of the seed falls on thorny ground – the plant starts to grow but is soon chocked to death. The cares of the world and small distractions cheat them out of the big opportunities

Finally some of the seed falls on good ground where it yields 30%, 60% and 100% – notice that the seed will always fall on the good ground. It is a mystery why some yield 30%, some yield 60% and some yield 100% don’t sign up for the ‘why is that?’ class it is just the way it is. Don’t try and make the 30% do 60% that will exhaust you and finally defeat you if you let it.

Just keep talking to enough people to get enough people to get the result, to get the harvest that you are looking for. Remember the more you sow the more you will reap. Please note that there is a harvest in due time! There are seasons that you have to go through in the growth of your business. So take all these things into account…expect them and be focused and resolute in the pursuit of your dreams.

To your success
