Success Habits - Importance of Personal Development

Todays important topic is Personal Development! This is another one of those important habits that leads to success!

Why personal development? This increases our value to the marketplace and you will find your income will grow as you grow.

Jim Rohn taught that you are only going to get paid for what you are worth to the marketplace. So in your business it is very important that you work harder on yourself than you do on your business or job (if you have one).

It is important to start off your business day with at least 20 minutes in personal development. That is reading a book, watching and listening to a motivational inspirational DVD or listening to an audio recording on topics that will stretch
your mind and help you grow. This sets a great tone for the whole day.

As you learn and as you begin to teach others what you have learned you will find that people will seek you out. That your sphere of influence will grow. People will want to work with you and you will find yourself in a place of leadership with a strong following.

Of course this all takes time…so where do you begin?

I’ve already mentioned Jim Rohn, and I strongly recommend you start there and consume as much of his teachings as you possibly can. You can go to his website and subscribe to his newsletter and purchase materials there. Jim Rohn speaking on personal development recommends you read the bible every day, this is something that I do every day! Not only good for your personal development but for your spiritual growth.

‘The Secret’ is will help you establish a good foundation for positive thinking and applying the law of attraction in your life.

I recommend that you find out from your upline what they recommend for personal development so that you can be coordinated with your team in what you are looking at.

Lastly it is a good idea to journal and write down what you have learned and what you will implement in your business. Share with your upline what you have learned.

This does two things…lets your upline know your serious about personal development and it gets you in the habit of putting into words what you have learned and this is in turn is exercising your teaching muscle and actually prepares you to teach! As you share you will learn even more than you did initially because the mind continues to dig deeper into the topic to be able to put it into your own words. So over time you will become more skilled at communicating and as a result be more articulate!

So start developing this all important habit that leads to success in your life and in your business!
